Join us for our French Connection Night to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of the movie premiere on Wednesday, October 9th. We’ll be playing The French Connection and offering Copain-esque specials throughout the evening. Our regular dinner menu will be served as well Copinette is located where once stood a landmark restaurant known to all New Yorkers called Copain. It opened in 1945 and was embraced by the neighborhood for 30 plus years. Copain was well known for serving elegant classics and enjoyed increased fame for appearing in a legendary scene in 1972’s Best Picture Oscar winner, French Connection. Gene Hackman’s character, Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle, stood across the street in a stakeout while he watched his targets enjoy a lavish meal.

Great neighborhood find. Relaxed, fun atmosphere. They use fresh Ingredients and some dishes are made based on special family Croatian secrets. Ask Andrew the owner to tell you about it. Great for brunch or dinner. Hamburgers to tasty fish dishes and more. Desserts are yummy too. Thanks Andrew and company for your service.

This seems to be more of a neighborhood restaurant than a tourist attraction. Thus, it is quieter and offers excellent value. Papparadelle in steak ragu, lamb burger, lobster linguine were all well prepared and quite tasty. Service was good. Prices are good. Only complaint was that the wine list showed a 2017 Amarone (rated 93) and they brought me a 2018 (rated 91, but the same price) which the waiter perfunctorily apologized for and then made an inane remark about the wine having been in the bottle a long time. If you are selling $100 and $200 bottles of wine, you should know and appreciate that different years can be significantly different for the same winemaker. Despite this hiccup, I highly recommend this restaurant. Two visits, six entrees, no disappointments!

Great service and a kitchen that's wonderful about giving people with dietary restrictions information and willing to leave ingredients out, substitute or separate ingredients. Really appreciate that. Recommend the crab cake and ricotta cheesecake. I've twice had the branzino and been disappointed, so won't order it again. Was dry; should have asked for lemon. Husband had the halibut and said it was good not great, so wondering if this just isn't a place to have fin fish.

This place was amazing. We went for Sunday dinner, and there was a live jazz band that really made the ambiance lovely. The food was so delicious and artistic that I was shocked at the prices. I thought our meal was going to cost us twice as much as it did! I highly recommend it!

This was our first time dining at this restaurant. Definitely recommend the Tuna Tartare (best I've had), branzino and chicken martini. The truffle risotto was also really good. Service was excellent. Will totally be coming back.
