Our sever made it seem as if we were incompetent. I’m not sure if my initial question of asking if they take tap pay (as most restaurants do now). The manager handled our situation, however, I just expected better from this place today. Being that my grandmother and mother flew in to celebrate an academic achievement.

My husband and I took my in-laws out for dinner. The food was pretty good. It was very busy considering it was a Friday night, so our service was a little on the slow side. The noise level was impressive, to the point that my father in-law had to turn down his hearing aids several times and we had to shout for conversation. Going out for dinner earlier in the afternoon would have been a better decision.

I typically order off the Life Balance menu as the portions are just fine for me. I also picked a day midweek as the restaurant wasn’t all that crowded meaning wait times at the tasting area were practically nonexistent and we were seated promptly. And as it wasn’t crowded the food coming out of the kitchen was more consistent than what I’ve experienced during crowded times. As a wine club member I eat there at least once per month to take advantage of my wine tastings or equivalent glass of wine at the table.

We made a reservation through OpenTable and we had no wait when we arrived, despite the restaurant being very busy. The food was excellent, we expected it to be great but it was better than that. Server was attentive, made suggestions, but was not pushy. Already looking forward to coming back!

I arrived for lunch and saw the chef’s special for dinner, Shanghai beef short ribs. I really wanted it but it was for dinner starting at 3:30. My waitress went to the kitchen to ask and they made it for me. The food was delicious and the Aereus wine paired with it was good.
