CH is always a solid choice. It just performs better some days than others. This was our first visit to the Grand Rapids location. We were seated as scheduled, but from there service was a bit off. We had to repeatedly request drink refills including cocktails. We needed to request that our table be cleared of dirty dishes before desserts. There was just a general lack of attentiveness. The food was a solid “B” with the steak and calamari scoring well above the other dishes. The cheese plate was marginal and overpriced for selection and presentation. The Drunken shrimp were a little overdone but still good. The creme brûlée was horrible. The custard was burnt and bitter and no one was willing to finish it off.

The noise level was too high to allow conversation below the level of shouting. We are happy that there was a good crowd. With that many people, background music only makes communication more difficult.

This experience was great! Three of my friends joined me and we celebrated our birthdays. The appetizers were wonderful! We had four and they satisfied us just fine. I used two of my bottles for the table and they were great. I picked up the same bottles from my reserve. The cost was exceptional and the server what welcoming, made great suggestions, helped up with the wine selection. IT was a great experience. It always is but this was special. Thank you!

I took my mom to lunch for her birthday. We dined outside in the patio. The food, the service, everything was impeccable.

Wife is a wine club member and we're frequent visitors. We sat on the patio this time like we've done before, the weather was perfect!! The only drawback to the patio is a bit more noise. Not only from 28th street itself but from the Valet service and the usual parking lot traffic. It's never terribly loud at all but its there. Will not stop us from sitting out there again ever.
