I’ve been dining at CH for over 10 years and have never had the exp like I had tonight. VERY disappointing! Wine club member and showed up to do a tasting. We were forgotten about at the counter, despite it not being busy, one lady poured our first glass and said X will be over shortly. Then we proceeded to be ignored for 15 mins until I said something and we finished the first wine. At this point our table ready is in 15 mins, I get someone’s attention (5 ladies working, all ignoring us). They tell me “tasting will be on the house since you won’t have time to do it all” OK - fine. But why didn’t you pay attention when we came 30 mins before the table? Get to table and order immediately. Server tells me they cannot make my chicken piccata with GF pasta (gnocchi) despite me coming here for years and always ordering the same thing. Even as close as 2 weeks ago!!! Find something else, NBD… server comes back when food comes out and ignores us for an hour despite drinks being empty now. We ask for water. No more wine $$$, since they clearly aren’t paying attention to us. Server also never asked if we were wine club members. I’ve never NOT been asked this! Very disappointing and will be going back to another location. Lost faith in Algonquin.

Our most recent visit to Coopers Hawk in Algonquin was underwhelming... What began with a 20-25 minute wait to be seated (with reservations), didn't improve. To be clear, we all appreciate that a Friday night, at capacity, challenges the kitchen, servers and staff. However, it's not like you get a discount for inadequate parking, a very loud dining room, slow (but friendly) service, luke-warm meatball appetizer, one entree prepared incorrectly, two others with tough, chewy short ribs, and capped off with an incorrectly applied gift certificate... We didn't complain during the meal (i.e. never smack the hand that feeds you). However, we probably should have. To her credit, our server did notice mushrooms moved to the side of one plate when she cleared and the manager comped the meal which was incorrectly prepared, without asking. None the less, a relatively expensive meal for four didn't leave us dying to return, especially on a weekend. Everyone can have an off night, but this was not up to the level we expect of Coopers Hawk given the prices.

Atmosphere and management was great. Server was nice but only checked on us once. Food was good but not sure it was worth the money. Wine was fantastic.

Food and wine were excellent. Service was exceptional. I had short rib risotto which was great. Brought friends from out of town for their first visit and they loved it. We will all be back.

Our server, Brittney, was sweet and helpful. She gets five stars. The food was just OK. Nothing was bad, just bland. Everything was cooked well but I ate less than half of my meal (pork chop, shrimp, potatoes and veg) and didn't take it home. The boyfriend wasn't interested in my leftovers, either, which is highly unusual. I think we'll stick to mom & pop restaurants vs chains.

I am always impressed with Cooper's Hawk. I love to invite guests to this place because its menu accommodates so many divergent tastes. I love their Shrimp, Brussels sprouts, and chicken potsticker appetizers. Their short ribs, such as grilled cheese sandwiches or risotto, are fantastic and ranked as a favorite. The service is usually spot on. Today, however, silverware was cleared after the appetizers. We had to wait a lengthy time for the entrees and request silverware once they appeared. Our water glasses were empty, and I had to ask for refills from a passing server.

Fantastic food and excellent service which made for a great night! Our server made such perfect wine recommendations that we ended up buying a few bottles on the way out. We will definitely be returning soon!

Ordered wine braised short ribs but could not detect any wine flavor. Tasted like pot roast. Vegetables served alongside were cold. Could have been better.
