Cooper’s Hawk in Algonquin is a rare gem! Great wine. Great food! We had a wonderful server…Friendly and welcoming! We shared an appetizer of soup and salad. The portion was large. We each had an entree. Everyone in our party of four had something different. Steak, Seafood Dishes, and Chicken…all cooked to perfection! The Peach Sangria was recommended by our neighbor….if was some of the best wine I have ever tasted! We truly enjoyed the experience and are already looking forward to our next visit!

We go to Cooper’s Hawk often but the Algonquin location may be off the list. 2 hours to get our food with no explanation from staff other than everyone ordered at the same time? Will not return to that location…sorry too hectic and not handled well.

Add a reservation for 5:45. Wasn't seated till 6:30. Went to the wine bar and someone asked us if we were there for a tasting and we replied, we weren't sure because we didn't know what a tasting was and the guy just walked away. Another very lovely lady came up to us and explained what it was and we had two very good glasses of wine. When we finally got seated at six thirty, it took another twenty minutes for a server to come and take a drink order. We put our appetizers in right away. That came about twenty minutes later, and they were mediocre at best. Our dinner came another half hour later and it was not very good at all. I had the crusted pork chop which was so dry. I took one bite and packed it up for my dog. The scallops gratin was overcooked and so crispy it was not edible. The short ribs were tough and unflavorful. Very disappointed all around .

The brunch and bubbles offering is fun and delicious. We ordered from the special brunch menu as well as the regular lunch menu. Smoke brisket hash was delicious! The lunch portion of gnocchi carbonara was also a hit. Our waitress noticed the birthday gift bag in the seat next to me and surprised us with a sweet treat and candle.

Food was delicious, as usual. Tableside service was outstanding. (Bethany was our server). But service at the front desk continues to be less than at other top restaurants. There has not been one time - not one - where although I and my party have arrived on time for dinner (problem is with dinner only, not lunch), we had to wait to be seated at what turned out to be an empty table in an area that was obviously not full. This is not just at this location in Algonquin, but at their stores in South Barrington and Bloomingdale also. Why is that?

Dinner was excellent, the new surf and turf special-filet medallions and lobster tail was awesome and very filling. Luke was our waiter and provided excellent service!

We’ve been to CH dozens of times since 2013! For our latest date night, we went to the one closest to our house. The hubs had our favorite cup of the crab, shrimp, lobster bisque with warm pretzel bread. So flavorful! For the entrees, we ordered our favorite - surf and turf. We chose the filet medallions for our turf, and the hubs had drunken shrimp and I had my favorite soy ginger glazed salmon. We adore this entree and like to sub their wonderful wasabi mashed. The filets were superb as well as our surf choices. Needless to say the wines I chose to accompany were just delicious. But most memorable, our server Nick was outstanding, he listened to us carefully and anticipated our needs and wants. We had such a delightful meal, and Nick’s excellent service complemented the great night. Thanks again Nick for your great service!
