Étant auparavant la maison de la soprano Dame Nellie Melba, le restaurant The Melba Estate, située dans la vallée de Coombe, est une propriété exceptionnelle. Situé sur un magnifique terrain d'une superficie de près de 2,8 hectares et construit dans un ancien garage restauré, le restaurant offre une expérience culinaire et culturelle unique. Le chef exécutif, Tony Milton, propose un menu à la carte ainsi qu'un menu dégustation. Une sélection inspirante de produits de saison et principalement cultivés sur le terrain de la propriété est offerte au déjeuner, au dîner et pour le thé l'après-midi, 7 jours sur 7. Le restaurant est moderne, spacieux et à la fois intime tout en donnant sur la magnifique cour intérieure du bâtiment parfaitement restauré. Depuis le jardin intérieur, il est possible d'admirer la maison de campagne ainsi que la plus ancienne piscine de Victoria.

Our 5th time at Coombe restaurant and even though the food is always great the service lets the experience down. We try to enjoy a table by the window and each time, regardless of how far out we book, we are placed in middle of the restaurant. This is a very busy place constantly being knocked by staff and other guests walking past, which distracts from enjoying your meal and ambiance. We were there for a birthday treat and waited 20 minutes to place an order and we’re not asked if we wanted a pre-lunch drink and had to ask someone to have a drink. Sitting there for 30 minutes just waiting we observed the staff do not smile or positively engage with guests. They are definitely efficient making up tables and topping up waters but the place lacks soul ….. everyone is just on automatic. The food is delicious with great wine selection and they kindly placed a happy birthday chocolate disk on the dessert… which is a lovely gesture. A few minor adjustments will make Coombes up there with the other wonderful restaurants in area. A smile and happy engaging staff would greatly benefit this lovely place.

Again it was a lovely experience. A beautiful day, beautiful surroundings, lovely atmosphere and excellent food cooked expertly. What we have come to expect but appreciate the consistency of quality hospitality. The Beetroot Sorbet was superb. Some experimental food is just plain weird but this was absolutely first rate in flavout, texture, colour, creaminess and a perfect contribution to the rest of the items in the Eton Mess. Well Done to all concerned.

Overall I would rate Coombe Estate on the same level as Florentino’s in Melbourne or any top restaurant in Melbourne. The welcome greeting, Irene our wait person, the food, the amazing view, beautiful dining area were AAA top notch. Well done as usual. I have been a visitor several times and of course will keep coming back.

We love visiting Coombes and we try and come every 3 weeks. The service and Staff are impeccable. They always greet us and are very polite and helpful. We had a lovely waitress yesterday named Alissa. We have had her before and she really went way above to make sure we were enjoying our visit. Gemma at the front desk is very lovely and professional. We always come back as we enjoy our visits.

Stunning restaurant with old world charm blended with elegant modern twists. Food was exceptional, service spot on. Our Birthday Girl got even a glass of Coombes bubbles.

Attended on Father’s Day. They were quite busy with many wait staff rushing past the table. Food was OK but not great. My soup was cold. Wine was excellent however!

We placed two orders for wine that was on your menu ( Sav ) only to be told they were not available ( not sure why you would have them on the menu ) FATHERS DAY WEEKEND) IF THEY WERNT IN STOCK. We ordered numerous dishes ( sides ) but had to ask where the others were after we started our meal. Considering the cost I was a little disappointed

Booked high tea for a 90th celebration and really enjoyed all the food, drinks and the quietness of the restaurant for older family members who struggle with their hearing. Beautifully scenic venue and didn’t feel we were being rushed out, staff were offering drink top ups even though it was nearing closing time.
