Consiglio's Restaurant: A True Taste of Italy in the Heart of New Haven's Little Italy District Consiglio's Restaurant has been a staple of the Little Italy district in New Haven for over 80 years. Founded in 1938, this third-generation, family-owned establishment offers a romantic and comfortable atmosphere and uses old-world, family-inspired recipes to create delicious dishes.
Consiglio's menu is focused on delivering affordable, delectable food for guests to enjoy any day of the week. Tried Consiglio’s for the first time last night. Inside was full at 7PM - and unfortunately very loud. They did have seating available out back al fresco. Beautiful area with another bar, string lights, propane heaters…very romantic ambiance and MUCH quieter! Food and service were excellent; the special butternut squash stuffed tortellini with pesto cream and sun dried tomatos was to die for! Great wine selection - even by the glass. Highly recommend this restaurant…we will be back.

Overall food was delicious. We had a 7pm reservation but we were seated until 745. Which wouldn’t have been a problem but the service was slow, our appetizers came before our drinks and we didn’t get out of there until after 930, which wouldn’t have been a problem but my kids were exhausted.

Service was great as was the food. Unfortunately, the acoustics are horrible . Very difficult to carry on a conversation which made it a bit unenjoyable.

Consiglio’s is always a go-to either for our family, out with friends, or date night. The outdoor patio is absolutely perfect. Eat outside if you can! Inside is great as well, large bar! The bread is amazing and I always get the penne vodka. We come back time after time and it’s always a great meal!

First time dining and it was exceptional from start to finish! Bridget was our waitress and she was outstanding. We can’t wait to come back again.

Always a wonderful meal! We had the special fig appetizer. It was figs stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped in prosciutto and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Delicious! Three of us had the homemade cavatelli with a braciole and one had the pork chop special. We have been coming to Consiglio’s for years. Always a treat. James was our server and he was very efficient and attentive.
