Nestled in the picturesque Virginia countryside, the Bistro at Goodstone offers a contemporary and laid-back dining experience. Our menu boasts seasonal dishes with locally sourced ingredients, including Virginia wines and draft beers. First time dining at the Bistro for dinner. Setting and ambience were beautiful. Server was attentive yet not engaging about the food offerings. As a pescatarian there were minimal options.The Tuna Nicoise was adequate yet not exceptional., same with the gazpacho. The champagne offering by the glass was a brand I was unfamiliar with. There was no amuse Boucher and no mini dessert with check. Overall it was not quite what we had hoped for.

A rainy night to enjoy A lovely bistro-type dinner with my hubby. It was romantic hearing and seeing the raindrops on the conservatory windows. Our server, Sephania was attentive and helpful with our drink selections and dinner entrees. The houseplants provided a natural, inviting atmosphere

This was a nice meal - bistro menu. My only complaint is that our burgers were inconsistent. My husband had a very large burger that was cooked as ordered. My burger was half the size and oblong so that it didn’t cover the bun ( only half). It was well done and I ordered medium. The rest of the meal was delicious.

I brought a very special bottle of wine, and was shocked by the $65 corkage fee. Very disappointing.

We have an extensive wine collection that is in Wine Spectator which is why the corkage fee is in place. We do apologize that this fee was shocking causing your disappointment. Tuesday is a “off” day at Goodstone and food is served in the Bistro. Fare is casual and certainly not of the quality of the main dining room. I’m assuming it’s the back up kitchen crew. The atmosphere is delightful, service attentive. Plenty of staff on hand they just need to work on a consistent menu.

What a jewel! We were going to The Salamander Resort for a spa day and needed a local spot for lunch. Tucked away a top of a beautiful hill overlooking rolling meadows, we found the perfect spot. Food was great and service was top notch! Recommend highly!
