Confucius Chinese started as Chichester's most famous Chinese, renowned for its local touch and personal service. Since then, nothing much has changed, the same people still work here and we still use our secret recipes to create classic dishes.Gordon and Yvonne Lee are the owners and you'll probably get to meet them at the restaurant. We're a family run restaurant with a twist in modern British Chinese cuisine. We live in Chichester and know the area very well.

The food was generally ok. The drinks options were poor. The restaurant itself is very dated and at least needs some fresh paint. Half a duck for the pancakes was expensive (£25) and then didn’t come with enough cucumber etc., and when we asked for more, we were charged more. We were also charged for plastic containers to take food away with us. We won’t be going back.

Eaten here many times, and it's always been 5 stars. Saturday started well, but there was a fracas when a starter dish was put on our table, and then whipped away, whilst a loud argument took place between staff. We felt that they had overcommitted to take aways, and small things like a ridiculously small dish of plum sauce for 12 pancakes were happening. We felt the food was was just 'less good'. My wife and I KNOW how good this restaurant is. Our friends who had not been there before do not. Certainly the 'row' was awkward and unprofessional. Sad really. At £35 per head, this shouldn't have happened.

Really enjoyed our eating experience at Confucius. Service was great, food was delicious, and it was a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and will be coming again.

Vegan duck was a nice option on the menu. We both ordered duck , one meat one vegan but were only given one plate of vegetables and one saucer of sauce between us. They did bring out more but charged us £4 for each extra plate! Also the pancakes were breaking so we asked for some more but again they charged us for that. We refuse md to pay for the extra items as they called it . It took 3 members of staff to agree to remove them from the menu. There was food up the walls where we sat . Not the best Chinese in Chichester as they claim. Would not visit again.
