On the main road from York to York Haven, and on the Conewago Creek near the point where the creek meets the Susquehanna River, the Conewago Inn has offered fine dining and friendly service for decades. Revolutionary War statesmen the Marquis de Lafayette in 1825 and author Charles Dickens in 1842 were among those who passed within yards of where you sit today. Prior to and during the American Civil War, slaves escaping from the south were hidden in what is now the basement of the Inn as well as in a barn which stood across the road.

In later years, a trolley line brought visitors by the hundreds to Elm Beach Park, a stone’s throw away from the Conewago Inn. The main log building dates to 1860. The building served as a farm house until the early 1920’s when it became an Inn named for the creek that flows nearby. Briefly named the Creekside Inn, the restaurant and tavern has since been known as the Conewago Inn. Enjoy your visit with us and let our family take care of your family!

Delicious dinner for 4. Crab and Asparagus soup was amazing. Loved the cinnamon butter choice with the warm rolls. Prime Rib with Wasabi sauce was fantastic. All the meals were delicious. No one had dessert so can’t comment. Will definitely go back.

Great service and food! Needs a little updating for dinning room. Bar room smoking very surprised by that. We will return.

No one was really there on a Sunday night and I was concerned about the quality of food due to no one being there and maybe the choices would be slim. However, that wasn’t the case. The food was very good.

We haven’t been there in a long time. The food was good and service was great the out side need cleaned up weed everywhere very sloppy not sure we will go back. Very disappointed

Brought my sister and mother in for mom’s birthday. Our food was outstanding. The place was just the right temperature (a weird thing that’s important to us) and our server Dara was just the right amount of attentive and very pleasant. Went to the bar after dinner and Cassandra took wonderful care of us, both of them were great! We had a great time, definitely will be back!

They sat us by the doorway and we froze every time the door opened the service was very slow and the meat was ok
