COMMUNION is a place where you feel seen. A place that feels like comfort, rest, relief, and peace. Our mission is to provide the food, the familiarity, and the intimacy that make you feel at home.

Chef Kristi Brown has spooned her way through the culinary industry for the past 28 years. Starting at a small café in downtown Seattle, Kristi has done just about everything from dishwasher/prep cook to running her own catering business for nearly a decade. From the beginning, her vision was to focus on the art and experience of food through culinary activism. A purpose powered by her mantra, “Everybody’s Gotta Eat!” Chef Kristi desires to build community through the cultivation of fresh food and fine cooking.

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Eater, le New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler et les James Beard Awards ont tous fait l'éloge de la soul food de Seattle proposée par la cheffe Kristi Brown au Communion. Le ragoût de collier de porc est un incontournable, tout comme les plats créatifs tels que le « hood sushi », ou le poisson-chat roulé en croûte de farine de maïs et accompagné de légumes marinés et de rémoulade. 10/10 experience from the customer service, to the food and ambience. Even the music was awesome! My favorite restaurant in Seattle. Definitely recommend!

The vibe is cool here but they may have outgrown the space. We made reservations but were asked to wait outside (no space inside to wait) which was fine cause we got lucky that it wasn’t a rainy cold day in Seattle. The bar seating is nice and comfortable. The hood sushi could be better, the dipping sauce is wayyy to hot and the flavor profile of the sushi isn’t significant in any way. The roll and crab butter were good. The fried fish was good but what came with it wasn’t anything special. We did love the ambiance and music, very cool vibe.

Our server was miserable and rude. Stated twice before we’d even ordered that we were only allowed to sit at the table for 1.5hrs. It felt like we were not welcome at all. When we decided to order a couple of dishes I said we might like to order something else if we decide we’re still hungry. The server stated that we had to order all of our dishes right away and they wouldn’t allow any ordering after that because their system won’t allow it. Terrible service. We’ll never come back.

Communion makes one feel like one is back home at a family reunion in Louisiana or some Southern Port of Call. The blend of old favorites with new takes on dishes such as Ramen make the menu lively. We loved the lamb, chicken and Big A$$ Shrimp. Desserts are probably wonderful as well, but we simply didn't have room left to sample them. We hope to be back soon to continue to explore Communion's offerings.

Communion is a great place to dine. The food was great and the portions were just enough to get you full and make you satisfied. The service was outstanding as well. Definitely on my list of good Seattle restaurants

The Only available table was outside. But it was covered and cozy and honestly had a better noise level than inside. The service was super fantastic and the food was ridiculously good. Love this place.

Really loved the vibe, warm service, and menu offerings. We had the fritters, duck ramen, chicken main , shrimp app, Mac & cheese. Duck ramen and main chicken dish were hits! Shrimp was nice and spicy! Only thing to note is that the fritters were fairly small portion size, and we definitely would’ve eaten more of them! Cocktails were strong and great, we’d definitely return.
