Loved the entire experience. Our Waitress did an outstanding job despite also being the bar tender.

The two pasta entree's were well prepared. The half chicken entree was perfectly cooked and moist. The lemon pie dessert was quite tasty, but the crust was very hard and uncuttable. The service was exceptionally good and attentive. Commoner is a good, consistent choice for the area. The food is generally quite tasty, though not exceptional. The menu choices are usually quite limited. It can be quite noisy when busy.

As usual, food was great. No matter what you choose, you will enjoy it. A little dark in the restaurant, but otherwise very nice.

The service was good and that was the only thing that was good about the location. They have seriously reduced a menu removing a lot of fan favorites and ones that you find and reviews and pictures. We were celebrating a birthday and it was embarrassing to be at this restaurant. Severely disappointed

Great ambiance cool bar but the food was so salty and flavorless. Probably the worst cheeseburger I’ve ever had, super thin lack of flavor and like a salt lick. Even the roasted chicken was salty lack of flavor. We hadn’t been there in years and now remember why.

We had their fried chicken with cooked greens and mashed potatoes. The chicken and greens were just a bit too salty..

My wife and I have been going to happy hour at Commoner for many years. Tonight the menu was completely changed. The number of items cut in half and only one item remained from the original menu. Also, their dinner menu Items we’re less than half of the previous menu. The food quality was fair to poor, the great focaccia bread that originally accompanied several of the selections was now toasted French bread and all the prices have gone up. We are very sad to see this restaurant go downhill so quickly, but we will not be going back.

Some our favorite dishes have been removed from the menu without replacements. Service was spotty. Almost like the owners are giving up. We will not stop going but we’re rather disappointed.

Such a frustrating place. We have been there many times over the years but the quality and choices are way too uneven. We were there 2 months ago after a long interval and enjoyed the meals immensely. Last night both dishes that we really enjoyed previously and actually came back for, were gone replaced by a minimalist menu will very little to offer. Two of us got the same dish. The difference in appearance between the tow same entrees was immense though they tried (in vain) to convince us that they were both equal in weight. It really is an odd place, well located in the neighborhood but the quality of the offerings are so variably that we do not plan one returning anytime soon. Very disappointing given our previous good meal just a few months ago. They seem obsessed at how things look and not at providing choices that people want to return for. Very odd approach.
