Located on High Holborn, close to the British Museum, the restaurant is elegantly designed and filled with original Indian art and antique furniture including century old items made for Maharajas which take diners on a journey through Indian culture and history.

The menu reflects regional accents with a contemporary viewpoint. It is food that observes the established traditions of Indian cooking but breaks the rules a little by Executive Chef Sohan Bhandari. Our menu goes beyond a 1970’s “Curry”, beyond street food and into a world of real Indian flavours. Our signature dishes include our traditional lunch Tiffin, Khaati Rolls , Colonel Saab’s smoked lamb shank and figs poached in Assam tea cognac.

The bar is a great meeting place and afterwork destination serving signature house cocktails created to compliment the menu.

Food underwhelming. Had lamb chops which were average. The tenderloin broccoli was chewy. The Chetinad chicken lacked flavour

Our group had a great time here. We did feel a bit rushed because of their timings. Kitchen was closing etc..even though we had reservations and came at the reserved time. Other than that, food, service, ambiance are all amazing. Try to pick a reservation earlier than 9:00pm if you can.

Came here with my wife, from the start to finish the service was excellent and attentive. We had the kind prawns for starters which were flavoursome, the mains were perfect , in terms of portion size. Must have the Rass malai for dessert. Overall happy with the experience, however, felt the price was steep for the food that you're paying.

We asked for the food to be made mild as we had kids with us and they said they would accommodate but if anything the food was extra spicy. If they were unable to accommodate we would have appreciated to have been informed beforehand. They could have recommended alternatives that may have been suitable. I have been here before and they food definitely was better previously. I don’t think I would be come here again.

This was my fourth visit to Colonel Saab’s. I’ve been to both Trafalgar Square and Holborn and on this particular evening, we went to Holborn where the food was superb. We had two starters, two main courses, a dahl, a dessert between the two us, a bottle of very good Chardonay, two large gin and tonic’s and the bill was £100 per head, which we didn’t think was bad for the quality. What made the evening was the two members of staff who looked after us, Auslud and Auushka. The one thing I will say about this restaurant and their Trafalgar Square restaurant, is the staff. Always attentive, always great knowledge of the menu and willing to assist. Just a five minute walk from Holborn underground station, so very easy to get to and near an excellent pub called The Princess Louise.

Great location, standard everything else - not a bad place but nothing amazing. The booking rule of 72 hours is quite off putting. For prime locations like the one in Holborn 24 hours should suffice. Service was ok, food was ok.
