Delicious fish and chips with everything cooked to perfection even a choice of types of peas. Great chef! Wonderful dessert as well - popcorn working surprisingly well with cheesecake.

Food is good but maybe menu needs an upgrade now summer finally here a few more salads - chicken ceaser and a lighter menu but perhaps it was their Sunday menu we had!

I’m not one to comment usually but, having dined at The College Arms several times, including Xmas Day, we always had excellent food, service and ambience. Unfortunately on this occasion, Sunday Lunch, we were a little disappointed. We had only ever eaten in the main room and on this occasion were seated in another room at the back of the building. There was no atmosphere, the seats were uncomfortable and few diners. The calamari were very chewy, a main dish of lamb with potato topping was a very small portion which included a large lump of gristle and the large portion of green vegetables could have been more appetising. Very pleasant staff but quite slow service. I’m sorry to have to give this report but The College Arms is usually one of our favourites and hence the disappointment. Hopefully a one off.

Not been here for a good few years but thought we’d try it again. Decor is in need of a makeover. Tables in dining room were rickety. Our table for two actually rocked and the table top was wobbling and twisting as did the one next to us. Only two other tables taken! Food was mediocre. My poached pear salad was tasteless and my husband’s salt and pepper squid had far too much sea salt on it. My main was okay but said it came with sauté potatoes and they certainly weren’t sautéed more like left over roast potatoes deep fried. They were very dark. Husbands burger was okay but again chips overcooked. Sadly very overpriced for the standard of food served and won’t be returning.

Lovely place to eat. Large or small groups. You’d choice of drink. Plenty of alcohol free choice. Staff very nice and good very good. Great value
