   Every time we visit the Napa area, we make a point to visit Coles Chophouse for dinner. Always excellent service and food, however, this time was an exception. The spinach salad was perfect but after that, it was disappointing. The bone in rib eye was cooked perfectly but had absolutely no seasoning. We also ordered the potatoes gratin and were equally disappointed. Zero flavor. I hope this was just a fluke because I’d like to return and have the same experience as in the past.

   The server seemed rushed or in a hurry. The server spilled the cocktail on the table and didn't offer to replace the drink. We had to mention to the waiter the drink was spilled and he returned with a small shot glass to "replace the amount spilled". My table agreed the food taste/quality was a bit off. I'm not sure if the service contributed to the experience.

   Excellent food and exceptional service. We had some great meals in Napa but this was the best.

   Another amazing evening at Cole’s Chop House. We had steak, fish and pork hops and they were all excellent. Excellent service great good.

   Party of 6, ordered dinner within 15 mins of being seated. Slow, but we were patient, enjoying company. Over an hour after ordering they tell us they don’t have halibut for 2 in our party and are going to sub in scallops. No thank you! Meanwhile other tables having ordered after us were well into eating their meals. We take 5 min to comb the menu for a new order. Food arrives 2 hours after being seated. Being a server/manager in restaurants, I’d expect service to be expedited but the opposite happened. It took us another 60 mins to get out of there after receiving our food even after expressing we didn’t want or have time for dessert. Maybe it’s because it was a Monday night but servicer lingered talking w other tables. It was not horribly busy and they were not understaffed. Nice server and nice manager but overall it was a complete disappointment, especially after having many great experiences here and talking it up to our friends. Food was delicious but ruined by the experience. Of our $500 bill, the manager waived fee for 4 drinks but considering everything, they should have done more and they should have not disappeared for the majority of our 3 HOURS there. We were thinking we’d have a 90 min meal, and be home early enough (after a drive) to prep for work the next day, and that a few of us would have had their delicious halibut they came there for.

   Octavio and other server were a class act!! Reservation Desk was marvelous, was seated outside and she was able to give us an inside downstairs cozy booth. Love this restaurant.. we tell all of our friends as we have many friends that come to Napa.

    Steak cooked perfectly to order! Truffle fries were delicious as were the shrimp on cocktail sauce. Nice evening! Thanks!
