This is the first time I choose the quiche/salad. It will be probably the last time as the portion is very, very small. Increasing the salad ratio would be the minimum acceptable at a reasonable cost.

Amazing staff, great food and beverages. The only modifications I would mention are: 1) There was a very severe smell of fish...almost unbearable, in the dinning room 2) For birthdays, it would nice if the complimentary dessert had a candle, and a bit more fanfair.

We went there for brunch and the food was great. The staff members are kind and so accommodating.

Very good French cuisine in a cozy setting. Everything was delicious, but the cod and veal mains stood out the most. We were seated in a quieter section, but there is an area suitable for everyone. Cedrik was an amazing server, always friendly and professional, checking up on us multiple times and letting us enjoy our meal at our own pace. We will return again for special occasions.

Made reservations for 2 with my name ; yet my guest arrived within minutes of me and was told repeatedly I had not arrived where I indeed had arrived and had been seated by staff. After 20 min my guest went looking through the restaurant and found me.

My daughter took me to birthday dinner at Cocotte this evening. I had the veal cheek, she went with the duck. My dinner was absolutely scrumptious, every last decadently rich bite. My daughters was not so great. She found the fingerling potatoes, peas (not petit poi’s as described, large peas in fact), and duck, served without a sauce or jus or gravy to be quite boring. “Like an English roast with peas and potatoes but no gravy”. The fingerling potatoes just had salt on them, no herbs or anything else of interest other than having been cooked in duck fat. So, a disappointing meal, we do not recommend the duck. However there were other pluses. The wine list was interesting - not the same old wines one sees on most menus in Ottawa, I enjoyed the quite reasonable selection. Our server, Victor, was an absolute gem!! A sweet young man who had more knowledge about the wines than I expected for his age. The staff at the desk who assisted us with the valet parking were two lovely young ladies, as sweet as Vitor. The valet however was very slack and we waited a very long time for the car. The streets were all but empty on this Wednesday evening as we left the restaurant, and I watched the car, motionless, on the VW app whilst the fellow told the front desk staff that he was on his way. I don’t know if he was having a long talk on the phone with his sweetheart, but the car was unlocked and not moving for a very long time. He told us that he was stuck in traffic. I showed him the app and let him know that the front desk staff and I were watching incredulously as he was telling them he was driving it to the hotel yet it was not moving at all. When he realised he’d been caught in a lie he deflated a bit and apologised. If your car has an app like this built in you might wish to make sure all is well before you hand off your car.

Lunch time is very busy and bustling. The marble floors and high ceiling are beautiful but it is way too loud to be able to speak comfortably.

It was fine. Cute modern French theme. Wasn’t wow’d by the lunch. I had beef tartare. Other guest had Salad Nicoise. Feels like you are in the lobby of the hotel. More of a business lunch feel than anything special. Service was good but nothing special. Maybe my expectations were too high. I would not go back on my own, but would consider a business meeting there.

We had mixed feelings on this restaurant. The mains (risotto and vegetable pot au feu) were great but the appetizers, in our opinion, were not good at all. The oysters were tiny and sad looking, and a couple had shell pieces in the meat. The beef tartare, which is usually my favourite dish at other restaurants, was covered so thick in a white sauce that it hid the meat’s color and made it so you couldn’t taste the meat. It was also weirdly chewy. It was so chewy we weren’t sure whether the beef was actually beef. But the mains on the other hand had flavour, great texture, and were filling. So overall an okay experience, glad to have tried it, but won’t be going back.
