   The Clowance estate is excellent. Its restaurant lets it down. The restaurant could be so much more! Very unorganised from the minute you walk into the restaurant. Lots of staff but little engagement. Not a big restaurant but everything from the drinks to food took ages. We had booked a table for 18:00. With approx 5 other tables. Food was underwhelming and service slow. We at at approx 19:00 hours.

   I can't fault the cleanliness of Clowance as it was superb but we found the service slow even though there was plenty of waiting staff the restaurant wasn't that full yet we were left waiting between courses. The meals themselves weren't what we expected. For £30my husband expected a big steak and lots of chips instead the portion was small. You get bigger in the Premier Inn restaurants! I had the duck which was overcooked and hard to eat because of it. I was hungry so didn't complain as the rest of the meal was OK. We did enjoy the entertainment though however we are unsure whether we will go back.

   The food was tasty, hot and well presented, but did not have a "wow" factor. Georgina and Zeke were our servers for the evening and they were amazing, greeting us warmly, very friendly, professional and provided excellent service throughout the evening.

   We came in november and it was lovely. Our visit in feb was disappointing.. it was steak night but to me that means that its a deal on steaks not just 3 steaks on the menu and thats it.. so when looking at the normal menu prior we were disappointed none of that was available. We ordered buy one get one free cocktails to then be told they didnt have ingredients for the one we wanted.. The waitress didnt seem very happy. I asked if they had steaks sauces she said she would check with the kicthen, odd not to have them on "steak night" but then she never returned. Our steaks came out before our drinks, we had to request our own steak knives and the food was okay. We decided to go for the chocolate tart, which itself was nice but there was no mention that it was covered in pistachio sauce, pistachio ice cream and pistachios.. my partner can't eat nuts so we couldn't share as we planned. This was a celebration of our engagement so we left feeling deflated by the experience. I just feel as the only restaurant on the premises the service should be the best it can be.

   Disappointed. dessert spoon of veg, a few garden peas swimming in gravy. Could taste vegetables as portions so small. Had to chase staff to take order, server said couldn’t take our order for food even though she took our order for water.?? Could see staff behind bar talking and through kitchen doors talking and not paying attention to customers. Was meant to be my birthday lunch. Would recommend to anyone.

   We ate Sunday lunch as well as dinner on two evenings. The staff were welcoming,attentive and very efficient. The food was very good in every way. I would recommend the Lake View very highly.

   Food was amazing and very reasonably priced! Great atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and polite.

   Nice location and pleasant surroundings. Would recommend for a good Sunday lunch.

   Specials on the menu were great. Tempura prawns for starter and Cajun chicken burger with pulled pork for main. Regular burger was delicious, very tender and moist. Steak from the main menu wasn’t great. A bit tough in places and not really rare, more medium. Didn’t have sweets, but options looked good. Service was very good, wine reasonably priced and atmosphere was pleasant. Have booked for another visit.

    Nice place to eat. Efficient staff, very friendly, worked hard with minimum numbers. Good choice of food, fresh local produce.
