A relaxed wine-led rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of Manchester City Centre, a daily changing menu, and a cellar with more than 400 different wines to choose from.

Climat is the second site from the team behind Covino, who set up shop in Chester's historic city centre back in 2016. The team has since forged a reputation both regionally & nationally as a fiercely passionate wine-led restaurant with exciting daily changing menus.

Head Chef Luke Richardson best describes his style of cooking as 'Parisian ex-pat food' - a nod to his time spent cooking in the cosmopolitan kitchens of Paris.

As the name 'Climat' might suggest, our cellar of more than 400 different wines has a slight lean toward our favourite region of all - Burgundy. Outside of Burgundy you’ll find a healthy selection of other favourites from around the world, with wines from small producers, to the more iconic, and all the top vignerons that sit between.

Fabulous place in the clouds of Manchester. The hash brown with taramasalata is the best ❤️

The staff rushed us to order they were moody and all stood around the bar talking We got served are food on different plates (not matching) Drinks were average and it was a special birthday note was left on the reservation and nothing was done to make us feel like it was an occasion. Really poor view not what we expected from a roof top bar.

If I were to build a dream restaurant…with dream staff….the perfect playlist…perfect views…and a menu that would struggle to be matched for skill… taste…theatre and presentation….then…add in some beehives and a wine list of extraordinary dedication….then I would have just created Climat…now…I didn’t build it…but luckily for everyone else…someone else did…perfection is on a rooftop in Manchester…and it goes by the name of…..Climat

Aimee our server was attentive and welcoming . Views were stunning (window seat) and food delicious 😋. Excellent dining experience. Salfish pork fish, risotto sourdough bread and butter, potatoes wine and beer. All tasty. 5* thank you.

Really enjoyed our meal at Climat last night. A lovely relaxed, yet sophisticated ambiance, with a great view over Manchester. The service was high end without being pretentious. Food is on the pricey side but I appreciated quality which ultimately deserves the higher price tag. Loved it and can’t wait to come back. The chicken liver parfait and brioche was so good, as was the lord of the hundreds gougeres and the cod loin.

I thought Climat had some elements that were fantastic - the wine choice and menu were amazing, the service was fantastic and the ambience is really great. Given the price of it, the food was so-so. A couple of things were great (the cheesy choux bun, and the cod loin) but some dishes weren’t very nice (the risotto was mushy and just tasted of saffron, the scallops was actually just one scallop chopped into tiny pieces served cold, and the broccoli tasted burnt) - these three dishes come to about £30… bad value. I also couldn’t work out the serving rhythm, they said all the dishes come when ready but they were waiting on us to finish some before bringing others, and I had finished all my food by the time my husband’s main came out. Two carafes of good wine, 2 beers and 7 dishes came to £270. I think at these prices you should be nailing the food, but they just didn’t I’m afraid. Still lots going for it though - I’d go back if I heard the food had improved (or the prices dropped!)
