We had a lovely, leisurely dinner with family. The service was great and the waiter attentive. The food was delicious and unique.

We had an excellent time last night at Claywoods. We had heard that several changes had been made (new chef, new menu, expanded wine list, etc...), and we wanted to try it out. The new menu has only been in place for 3-weeks. We were very impressed with the variety and flavor of each our dishes (Steak Tartare, Smashed Potatoes, Trout, and Beef Shank). We had only two minor comments about our dishes...Would like to see a little more cracked pepper in the steak tartare, and a little less fennel salad on the Trout (the fish is the star of the plate). Other than that all the food had great presentation and wonderful flavors. Carly (the owner), Tory (Chef), and Brett (Beverage Manager) each spent time with my wife and I talking about the changes and vision of the restaurant going forward. They each have a passion for their respective roles, and how they compliment the overall restaurant. Hendersonville, is lucky to have another quality restaurant that is convenient for a growing community. We'll be visiting Claywood on a more frequent basis! Signed up for their newsletter, so we stay current. I urge everyone to visit Claywood, if you haven't recently...well worth it!

I sat at the bar last evening because it was just me. Brett (the spectacular bartender and wine list maker) was friendly and efficient. I was also sitting where I could watch him make some of his cocktails and ask questions. I learned a lot and it was fun. Chef Tory came by to see if I enjoyed his food (it was fantastic). Owner Carly was there and we talked off and on. She is very conscientious about meeting and getting to know every single customer. My takeaway is that this is a wonderful place to go for great food, excellent cocktails, attentive service, and customer friendly staff and ownership.

Claywood has a great vibe- cozy and sophisticated. The cocktails were excellently crafted and there are many creative cocktail options that will keep us coming back. The wine menu looks great also. For dinner, we opted for the charcuterie board (excellent and plentiful!) and several of the small plates. Mushroom toast is fabulous! We also had the gnocchi, pork belly and shallot& cheddar tart. Everything was so tasty. Next time we will try the entrees. It’s nice to have an upscale dinner spot in Hendo that is not on Main Street.

If you want the same old, same old, this is not your place. If you want a menu that has a whole bunch of options that are all average this is a pass. If you want a menu that has been curated and perfected and original then you want to check this place out. From the light dusting on fennel on my wife’s slaw topping her perfectly cooked rainbow trout to the perfect seer on my beef shank, to elevated taste of the olive oil cake for dessert this place is a home run.

The new menu is amazing and the vibes are impeccable! Chef Tory works with local farmers and businesses to create approachable AND delicious dishes that’ll make you come back for more. Get in there before the menu switches for next season :)

Cozy and modern and comfortable restaurant/bar with an amazing whiskey list and expertly prepared foods. Greeting is warm and service is excellent. Request the seating you want ahead and enjoy this great venue near downtown Hendo!

Thanks for the feedback. I have to be honest here - We are not intentionally marketing our small family owned business as innovative. We come with grateful hearts and intend to serve freshly prepared food and offer amazing service. We have a road closed in front of our business and have only been serving Hendersonville for 10 months. We will continue to offer seasonal changes in our menu. You can suggest in your next reservation to be away from the music, however, we dont intend to have much of a live acoustical musician on the weekends. As we get more acclimated you can expect more from our menu. From a business standpoint there are several strategies that need to play out to keep our business alive during Streetscape. We look forward to serving you soon!
