Welcome to Clay's Kitchen & Bar, and we look forward to serving you.
Our food is modern Hyderabadi cuisine ( a southern region of India) and some exciting small plates from different streets and homes of all the regions of India.

Our food has received praise from Jay Rayner, Grace Dent, William Sitwell, and Tom Parker Bowles and excellent reviews in the Guardian, Observer, and Delicious magazine, among others.

We are also a pub so you can come in for drinks.

Fabulous food as usual. The special of saag chicken was in a different league to any similar dish we have had before. The bhuna venison continued to delight. The serving team were young and full of enthusiasm under the watchful eye of Nandana who always ensures that service lives up to the quality of the food.

2nd visit and again fabulous food from this top class Indian restaurant. Good value for money and friendly staff.

Food was fresh and tasty, but waiting staff was very inexperienced and the ambience is definitely not there. I like restaurants where you feel welcomed and you also have some kind of human experience/exchange…this was nearly robotic. Not my cup of tea, but the food was fresh.

A family owned enterprise that cares about good food and service. Some dishes are outstanding and the occasional dish could be improved (the dal, which was lacking in depth of flavour). It’s a family favourite so we look forward to our next visit.

Our 3rd visit to this amazing restaurant. Food is outstanding with amazing flavour and authenticity. Staff attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back

Always incredible food when we come here - the non-standard dishes keep us coming back and trying new things. Lovely big room to give a great ambiance, and the staff are always wonderful. Favourite Indian restaurant!

Very, very expensive! Unnecessarily so. Food was cooked really well and nicely presented but far too much chilli as it overpowered any flavours and made the food tasteless. I'm used to hot spices, but this was just impossible to deduce what flavours and scents were present. Ordered the chawla cream chicken and was quite put off by the sauce's grey colour, though this was the one dish we had which didn't have tonnes of chilli taking over. Servers were all quite young and super helpful and gave good service throughout. The place is simply but well decorated. We enjoyed reading some cultural history about the food and where it came from on the mini specials menu leaflet.

Hi Amy, I am sorry you felt the food to be spicy. That Chawla cream chicken is a regional speciality that we are doing this month. It is one of the mildest dishes we have ever done. It has no chilli at all and only mild spices. To represent a region correctly, we stick to the original recipes as closely as we can. This gives me the impression that you prefer milder dishes. Most of our food is medium to hot in authentic standards. We do not cook British Indian. Our food is as genuine as we have ever experienced growing up in India, and we go to extreme lengths to get our customers the best quality and variety. We can always recommend milder dishes based on your spice tolerance level. I hope you give it a try again. Thank you for taking your time to leave this feedback.
