Clavells is a traditional restaurant set in the heart of the Jurassic Coast. With our very own courtyard and garden, centrally located in the heart of the picturesque village of Kimmeridge. We serve a wonderful choice of seasonal favourites and classic food dishes. Clavells should be your first port of call for a hearty Sunday roast, a three-course meal, or a sun-drenched cocktail on a glorious summer’s day.

A lot of money for what you got and the food quality wasn’t great. Also £3.50 for a kids Fruit Shoot!

Excellent lunch after a visit to the wonderful Steve Etches fossil museum opposite. I was especially delighted with my gluten free fish pie - being coeliac my options in restaurants are often few, but this was absolutely delicious. Good portions, delightful waiting staff who couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. We will be back on our next visit to Dorset!

Very average food at very expensive prices. A shame as the location is lovely. Possibly catering to the captive market from The Etches collection?

This resteraunt is ideally situated next to the jurassic coast museum. The menu is full and varied giving a large choice. The service was attentive but not overwhelming and delivered with a jolly and welcoming smile. The food order was taken and the perfectly cooked items were shortly on the table. Slightly off the beaten track but very well worth a visit. Will be returning.

A nice venue, good service and an interestingly different menu from the normal. The food was served quickly and was hot, perhaps a little on the expensive side for plain fish and chips/pie and chips.

Really delicious food. A lot of fish/ seafood options. I had moules marinaire, my daughter had a shrilankan curry, 1 son had a seafood basket of squid, scampi etc, another son had a burger, husband had a chicken and bacon salad. We sat outside in the sunshine at 4.30 pm. Relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably expensive but good quality food is worth paying for.

Context: We had a party of 4 adults and 1 child, we ordered 2 starters and 4 main meals, with 3 soft drinks and water at the table - our bill came in at just under £200. Pros: The restaurant is set in a lovely location, there is a friendly atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming. The food came quickly and your dog is welcome inside (a dog menu is available, which is a nice touch) Cons: The food is a little expensive for what you get, which is nothing special! I had salmon, herby potatoes and vegetables- it tasted fresh however it was really quite bland and came with no sauce to tie the meal together. My husband had the pie and was also left a little disappointed! The others at our table seemed happy enough but they were our guests so probably wouldn't comment. We would only visit again (perhaps to give it another go) if we were in the area (as we can take our dog in.) However we wouldn't go out of our way to visit again!
