Claude’s Kitchen initially seemed like a hidden gem. With glowing ratings, stunning food photography, and a prime location, it had all the makings of an unforgettable dining experience—at least on paper. Unfortunately, the reality was a significant letdown.
We started with a round of spicy margaritas, which were anything but spicy. Instead, they tasted soapy and diluted—a far cry from what should be a straightforward cocktail to perfect. The disappointment continued with the starters: bland, unimaginative, and lacking any standout flavors.
The main courses didn’t fare much better. The ribeye steak, priced at a steep £38, was cooked well but came with nothing more than a side of fries. For that price, I expected something more substantial or creative. The mussels, despite being in season, were shockingly tiny and underwhelming in flavor.
Overall, the experience felt like poor value for money. While the staff made several attempts to win us over, the efforts came across as insincere and didn’t make up for the subpar food. Claude’s Kitchen might “do the job” for its convenient location, but it’s hard to justify a return visit.
