Clark’s Montecito is a stylish all-day restaurant celebrating coastal American classics spanning from New England to California. In addition to its flagship menu of oysters and raw bar, a signature burger, daily catch specials, lobster rolls, chowder and refreshing crudo, this California location features seasonal bounty from the Pacific Ocean. The wine list highlights California classics alongside French whites and reds primarily from Burgundy and the Loire. Clark’s signature martinis and cocktails are always available. A collaboration between Lambert McGuire Design and Santa Barbara-based architect Jeff Shelton, the space offers a seamless indoor-outdoor dining experience that marries Clark’s classic coastal design features with the more whimsical ceramic tile traditions of Portugal and Mexico and a Mediterranean-inspired design that pays homage to its coastal setting and historic Spanish Colonial Revival architecture.

The bread - they make their own and it's great! It's our second time there and the menu was different - and bigger. LOTS of items to tempt us. I had a couple of fresh oysters - love the very large selection of varieties - at least 6 and it might have been 7 or 8. Guess there's a reason they call it an "oyster bar"! We each got our own meals: BLT - big enough to split, especially with the fries. Very good and hearty, especially with the spread on the sandwich, great flavor profile with a bit of heat. The burger was good - cooked the way we asked and not too big. The clam chowder was very good - had a bit of spice to it - so no need for me to add tabasco. Hearty with lots of tasty ingredients. We were not disappointed and look forward to going back again. P.S. - the staff are really nice and perfectly attentive.

We’ve been twice now. Both times underwhelmed and unimpressed. Dessert is by far the winner on the menu. For the price there are better options. Service delays as well as food were issues in both visits.

We were excited to try this rather new spot in our neighborhood but to our chagrin we found it to be average at best . The noise level was high with all hard surfaces and nothing to dampen the sound, the French fries .. my husband’s favorite appetizer .. might have been good if they were hot, our salads were mediocre .. crab cake over $30 was mostly filler, my entree had to be returned..fish.. being over cooked and dry. To be fair we were not charged for the fish and brought a glass of champagne to try and make up for the fish. But if you are a seafood/oyster bar you better know how to cook it. Nice staff but we won’t be back. Too bad

Just not great. Not terrible but not good. Clam chowder was so watery and no flavor. The “burger” is a small slider. The linguine and clams was meh. Overall disappointing.

Started with amazing Oysters.. then had the Octopus.. Outstanding!!! Everything from there on, including the Key Lime Tart was DELICIOUS!!! Can’t wait to return and try a few other items on the menu.

I had a terrible dinner at Clark's last night. I ordered the beet salad (quite good) and the Shells and Cheese with Lump Crab. The Shells and Cheese were delivered to me cold, and I mean cold - not even lukewarm. I sent them back. Ten minutes went by and they brought me a second dish, this time about two-thirds the size of the first one (apparently you get a smaller dinner if you want it hot). The second dish was COLD. The same COLD, COLD, COLD. Getting pasta hot is not rocket science. You just heat the dish, and then you check it and make sure it is hot before you deliver it to a client who was given one cold meal already. I gave up. Really disappointing.

Service was poor - very slow and unattentive. The food was mediocre at best. All three fish entrees were overcooked, the crispy marbled potatoes were soggy, and the salad dressing lacked flavor. The restaurant was also very loud, making it difficult to carry on a conversation. Perhaps it was due to one very inebriated gentleman at the oyster bar, but nevertheless. Unfortunate as the menu is very good and the location and decor are great.

It has a great vibe and feeling. The food is so good. Oysters amazing. Crudo and clam chowder and linguine with clams all amazing.

Our waiter was patient and understanding, however most of the food we ordered had to be sent back. The restaurant kindly sent a slice of Key lime pie to make amends. It was not an enjoyable meal overall. Friends have expressed that they have not enjoyed the food experience at Clark’s. Everyone wants this restaurant to succeeded in Montecito so we’ll try again.
