Claridge’s Restaurant has gently opened its art deco doors onto Davies Street, as it embarks on a new era in its long history. This classically inspired but contemporary British restaurant – which will fully open in September – is now operated in house by the hotel itself. It was previously known as Claridge’s Restaurant over 20 years ago.

Firstly, appalled to find ladies cloakroom in the actual toilets, none of us were happy about this. The service was average, we didn’t feel looked after. One should never have to top up one’s own water glass in such an establishment. We were offered bread, we didn’t ask for it and it was added to the bill. This was not made clear. Food was lovely, compliments to the chef, and the ambiance was great. We shall be back.

Th e Sunday lunch was excellent the rib of beef was of a very high standard. And all the trimmings were very good the roast potatoes could have been seasoned more the cabbage with cream and bacon was to die for. They seemed to be a bit short staff as service was just a little slow but when we were served it was very good. We were not offered a wine list or drinks list and there was a piece of string left on my wife’s beef.Elizabeth the manager did take care of us and was horrified that the string had been left on the beef and they took care of the meal for my wife with no fuss whatsoever. The dessert was unbelievable apple crumble, pineapple panacotta lemon meringue pie and a center piece chocolate dish which was delicious Served with custard and vanilla ice cream. Overall a very tasty Sunday Roast in a great location
