Easter tea was a bit expensive at $125++ per person but well worth it. The food was exquisite, service excellent, ambiance festive, and the full glass of Schramsberg sparkling wine made it very special for our family.

The experience was absolutely lovely! The teas were delicious. The food was ample and delicious! The service was exquisite. My family and I had a great time. We talked and laughed so much. I wish tea was year round.

Valentine’s Tea was very nice. The Claremont is beautiful and the setting was very elegant but not too stuffy. The wait staff was very attentive and just plain wonderful! Kudos to them! The teas were tasty, the whole party loved their choices. The food was tasty as well …. There was only one weird thing. The bread on the egg salad sandwich was hard and a bit dry… like it was left out. The egg was still tasty though. The prime rib sandwich was delicious and they even kept off the horseradish aioli for me. Everything else to eat was delicious and there was so much I even took a few bites home! Overall it was a wonderful experience.

No real vegetarian options, I instead got two egg salad and two lobster- which was flavorful but not carefully assembled- not enough salad on the roll. The food in general seemed a bit tired. The tea selection was fine. The service also ok. I have both worse and better tea service in SF. We chose to come here since we live in Oakland. I dont think this will be able to stay on my list of places to frequent. The blinds were down due to too much sin coming in but that meant no view...

The afternoon tea was a lovely experience. The service was very good! We had a beautiful table by the window. The food however was less than stellar. The cheddar biscuit was dry and flavorless and the cranberry scone was dry. There was no regular butter or clotted cream. We were served small scoops of cinnamon butter, some flavorless cream, and strawberry jam. None of these seemed to pair well with either "bread". The sandwiches were ok, the brioche rolls seemed to overwhelm the small amount of lobster salad put on the roll. Literally could not tell this was even lobster. The truffle egg salad was good as long as you like the truffle flavor. The sweets were by far the best part of the food offering. This $135 per-person tea seemed to not deliver based on the high cost.

Afternoon tea is a lovely tradition but in this case it was a seriously overpriced experience complete with terrible food. The ambience and staff are wonderful but that doesn’t take the sting off the price for dry scones and tasteless sandwiches. Please rethink the menu and price.

We both felt sick, very rich foods, odd mix from top to bottom. Very sweet. I didn’t finish much of my food, just left a pile on my plate. I’ve had much better tea foods elsewhere.

First visit for High Tea. Would have been good if waiter/waitress explained how the process worked. Overview of finger foods served provided on one side of menu. Egg salad bread was somewhat air dried (sitting uncovered?). Not much prime rib meat on finger roll. Finger desserts were cute. Finger scones somewhat dry. Variety of flavored butters and honey delicious. The tea selections were on backside including ice wine. Would have been good to know that everyone could order different pot of tea to try and/or share. Green Tea was delicate and tasty. Service was excellent. Attentive server. Was seated near windows and coverings didn't obscure afternoon sun's blinding light. Beautiful holiday environment supported family conversation while pianist played lovely tunes in background. In sum, simple finger food was pricy. Ambience was lovely. Recommend to try.

Claremont, you have gone downhill. We’ve enjoyed your regular tea and Holiday tea many times but this year is very disappointing. The menu sounded promising but the execution was mediocre. The tea sandwiches were just ok but unimpressive. The sweets were not special. I did like my jasmine tea. Our server was very friendly and personable but low staffing did not allow her to be more attentive. Live music was sad. The pianist played her songs but may have missed more than a few notes. Absolutely no holiday ambiance. Definitely did not feel this experience is worth $135 per person this time around. I really want to continue to love this place but this experience was more than underwhelming. Will I be back? Yes, but Claremont has to up its game.
