Located in the heart of the the Most Beautiful Square in Texas, City Post Chophouse began its story as a post office in the 1930s, during the Great Depression and Prohibition. Nearly a century later, the beautifully renovated historic building now offers an elevated dining experience, live music and private events.

Executive Chef Adrian Corkill has curated a stand-out menu, featuring fine cuts and chops of beef, lamb, and pork, as well as fresh seafood and decadent side dishes served family style, along with unique handcrafted cocktails. Accommodations for vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free diets are readily available. Our wine selection includes something for everyone, with a variety of by-the-glass options.

Reservations can be made for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch in our main dining room, where “Texas formal” attire is appropriate. Walk-ins are welcome in our oyster bar, where our full menu is available with a more relaxed dress code.

My friend and I went for brunch .The inside of the restaurant was beautiful. The food was amazing! We had the roast, waffles with berries, steak and eggs and cheesecake. The smoke flavor on the filet was so delicious. The roast meat was cooked perfectly pink, the roasted carrots were very fresh, the waffle was very light and tasty, and the cheesecake was just heaven! I’ll definitely be back to try dinner.

Located in the old Georgetown post office. The City post offer outstanding selection of steak and fish. The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. The live piano kept the atmosphere lively. The service and staff were friendly and inviting. I recommend the City Post for your next special occasion.

We went there for brunch, Great atmosphere, beautiful restaurant service was above average great craft cocktails. I had hoped to try the eggs Benedict dish, but they ran out of biscuits and while an alternative was offered, had my heart set on the biscuit for the bread Decided on Roasted chicken and waffles instead, which was a solid entrée choice. Nice texture and tenderness on the chicken and waffles were tasty. The lobster roll left a little something to be desired, fairly bland.

Ordered two steaks. They came out, one over cooked & one undercooked. Sent the undercooked one back (we have never done that before, but they insisted) and then it was well over cooked. Disappointing. The BBQ butter for the bread (lol) and Oyster Florentine were the best things we had. So many people had told us how wonderful this place was, but it just wasn’t our night I guess. Aside from the incorrectly cooked steaks, the service was nice, but oddly overwhelming with variety of people. Seating was cozy for a date night. Dessert also fell short (but was free because of my husband’s birthday). We were good sports, but certainly one of our more disappointing celebration dinners.

As always, the food and service was wonderful. They remain my favorite restaurant in Georgetown.

Wedge was fresh and tasty. The bean soup delicious 😋 The old fashion perfect! Have the dessert in my fridge for later! Yummy and our servers treated us well!

Great dinner celebrating a birthday and anniversary! The service was very attentive and informative….food was outstanding - we had oysters then steak, tuna steak and sea bass - all prepared beautifully. Cocktails were delicious , the sommelier helped us pick out a wine for the table and desserts were fantastic. Great environment!

Excellent overall. Went for the brunch and their Roast plate is delicious. We added the lobster mac and cheese, this plate is a most have. I truly love the food, service and environment. 200% recommend.
