Citrin is a modern Californian cuisine restaurant by Chef Josiah Citrin. The attention to detail and pursuit of excellence that defined Josiah’s landmark Mélisse restaurant for 20 years thrives in this new space. Citrin is a fun, welcoming, and approachable experience. Join us Sunday, October 27th for a special 5-course dinner featuring Michelin-starred guest chefs Michael Cimarusti (Providence), Michael Tusk (Quince) & Gilberto Cetina (Holbox) at Citrin & Mélisse, benefitting Stop the Void. Stop the Void is a charity close to Chef Josiah's heart. After losing his son Augie at 23 years old, Chef Citrin has dedicated his time to spreading awareness of fentanyl poisoning in the hopes that his work can help at least one person. We ask you to join us for a special evening to help raise money for this organization. Canapés & 5 Course Menu $750

We expected to be wowed going to a restaurant receiving Michelin star two years in a row. We were not. We started with the Greek Tomato salad, which was essentially a 1/2 a tomato with some filling. The predominance taste was an average tomato. Our server advised that this cannot be divided and when we saw it, it was clear why. For the main dish I had the Brandt Beefeye of Rib Eye. It was tender, but the taste was average at best.. Everything we had looked good, but the taste was average. It appear that the menu was designed to generate the biggest financial return, as opposed to please the guest and have them leave saying I want to come back. Amazing packaging of an average content.

Excellent service and incredible food. We had a fabulous evening and everyone loved all their courses.

Truly the worst dining experience I’ve had relative to the cost in Los Angeles. The kitchen apparently had an issue, which led to us waiting for nearly an hour for our food. Our waiter essentially abandoned and avoided us and provided no insight into what was going on. At one point someone offered us a complimentary second “splash” of wine (which was only necessary because I had finished my glass waiting for our food) but no one was apologetic. This was all pretty rich considering our waiter impressed upon us more than once when we sat down how they “have been doing this 25 years.” Beyond the inconceivably bad service, the food was not even good enough to justify a visit under the best conditions in my opinion.

Show up ay 5:30 for a seat at the bar. No reservation required. Full menu at the bar. Delightful bar tenders.

The restaurant has an unassuming front. When you walk in, the ambiance just pops. Food was amazing except the Dover sole was too heavy due to the butter sauce. The tomato soup and prawns were amazing and the dessert selection outstanding

The food was incredible! I would definitely go back again for that. The service, however, was a little too on top of us. We felt like we were being stared at by several staff watching like a hawk. I appreciate attentiveness but it was over the top. It should have been less obvious to us. It killed the mood a bit and made us feel rushed, especially because as soon as we finished something they came right over to take the plates/silverware and we could easily anticipate it.

The price should definitely show - either $$$ or even $$$$. Having $$ is very misleading. Other than service was excellent and the food was very good. Nice ambiance and excellent cocktails.
