Inspired by the warmth and vibrancy of Jamaica’s culture and people, Chubby's Jamaican Kitchen is a take on traditional Jamaican cooking balanced with relevant culinary twists. Co-founded as a passion project by Gusto 54 founder Janet Zuccarini and Angela Lawrence, Gusto 54’s Chief Culture Officer, Chubby’s is a celebration of their long friendship, and their love and respect for the island’s food and all the amazing Jamaican cooks they know.

Located in a circa-1890 row house re-envisioned by Partisans Architects and interior designer Wendy Haworth, Chubby’s boasts two floors of seating, two bars, and two outdoor patios. It melds old and new, inside and out to create a transporting dining experience complete with delicious Caribbean cooking, eclectic design and soulful hospitality. Chubby's is also a Michelin Guide CA - rated restaurant.

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : C'est toujours l'heure de l'île dans ce restaurant jamaïcain décontracté, qui attire des habitués pour un délicieux ragoût de poulet jerk et de queue de bœuf, à accompagner d'un ou deux mojitos à l'hibiscus. Il y a un patio arrière très prisé pendant les mois les plus chauds, mais l'ambiance des vacances tropicales est tout aussi conviviale à l'intérieur grâce à une salle à manger luxuriante bordée de plantes.

Great place, amazing! Syd was fantastic! Great cocktails. Food was kinda bland, jerk chicken was white girl flavor. My husbands curry was good. If the spice level Was kicked up a notch it would be 5 star

The whole experience was a 5/5, something about the rice. It was missing some flavour. Loved the hot sauces.

From the moment we walked in, the customer experience was outstanding. Food and drinks were on point. The Saltfish Mac and Cheese, was the best Mac and cheese I’ve had in my life. And I somewhat consider myself a connoisseur. I cannot say enough amazing things about Chubby’s.

food always tastes amazing but it was speak hours and the service wasn’t that great.

Highly recommend! Everything here is amazing. We ordered the saltfish fritters, jerk chicken and pork, and the mac & cheese. Honestly, I couldn’t decide on a favourite. It was all fantastic. Best jerk I’ve had outside of Jamaica.

Great concept but lacked flavour. We ordered the the salt cod fritters, the wings, the jerk chicken, the pepper shrimp and the okra. All very presentable but ultimately didn't taste as expected. Strange choice of sauces for the okra and the pepper shrimp, the jerk chicken didn't taste like it was marinated but only cooked in sauce. Also think they forgot to add the cod to the salt cod fritters. Food felt very white washed which was disappointing.
