We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and could not have wished for a better evening. The service was immaculate and the food matched. Lovely evening. Thank you.

We chose from the Classic Menu - fish and chips were fine, steak baguette was good and seared tuna salad good but very small. All similar to most gastropubs but nothing great. Service was somewhat unprofessional and would make all the party think hard about returning. Staff training is badly needed. Therefore the 12.5% service charge was not well received.

Had lunch here again with a foody friend visiting from London. Excellent service from Martin the maitre d' who recommended an excellent RSA white wine and we ate well from the classic menu. We both had excellent prawn cocktails- addition of dill was good. Followed by a tuna Nicoise and fish n chips. My go to place for lunch in fine weather on summer's days seated on the Wisteria Terrace.

Overalll, we had a lovely lunch seated at the front of the Crown on the Wisteria Terrace. Martin, the maitre D'was attentive and good company. Delightful waitress set ed us and the food was 1st class. I had a salad nicoise with perfectly cooked tuna, followed by the Vegetarian roast with good quantities of perfectly cooked vegetables. My partner had the truffled goat cheese with beetroot slices, followed by roast sirloin with Yorkshire pudding. Both were excellent. Two courses with a cocktail to start and sparking water but no wine or dessert was v reasonable at £102, I thought. The chef, Chris, came out to see us which was a nice touch. Go and you won't regret it.

As a group, we dine at Chris Wheeler's Crown Inn regularly. Everything is always first-class and the food amazing. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, service and decor. There were not may diners but we had all been located in the same area so as to feel busy. The food was expensive but worth it for a special occasion 😋

Have eaten there several times under previous ownership. The plus under the previous owner was the option of outside dining which is no longer an option. It was very noisy and considerably more expensive than previous and than local comparable competition. If you want a noisy environment then the recommendation which I have said "No" would become "Yes". I am not impressed by named chefs so it becomes too expensive and it is highly unlikely we will visit again.
