The appetizers-Prawn Cutlet, Calcutta Fish Fry, Welsh Lamb Chops, Nizam's Malai Tikka, Tangra Chilli Chicken and Lotus stem sweet potato Chaat and in the mains you our signature Tiger Prawn Malai Curry, Kosha Lamb, Chicken Chaap, Dak Bungalow Chicken Curry, Grand Trunk Black Dal and the Calcutta Style Biryanis are a must try.
We are at less than one minute's walk from Marble Arch Tube Station at 3, Old Quebec Street which intersects Oxford Street and Bryanston Street.
Inspired with natural rattan-stained furniture and cream walls, the decor captures the essence of architecture of Calcutta. Also has a lovely, cosy alfresco dining with heaters.

    One of our best experience. Delicious authentic food . Excellent location . Fabulous decor and Amazing customer service . The entire team provided great service , shoutout to Palash from the customer service team for going above and beyond to take care of the guests requests . Highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for authentic Bengali Cuisine . Thank you Team Chourangi .

    Food did not taste good and below average. The mocktail was good, but very overpriced like everything else on the menu. If the food tasted good, you could justify the price however this was not the case. Stringy Potato - was Bombay Mix. Asked to be seated elsewhere, as we were close to the kitchen and had booked a table. The request was denied and advised wherever we sat it would smell. Left the restaurant reeking of curry. We left without finishing our dishes. It's a shame as we had high expectations based on the reviews. I'm not sure how this place is still open.

    We were a party of 4 so shared 4 dishes: aubergine(eggplant), cauliflower , chicken & lamb, with rice & naan. Dishes were nicely spiced, all differently flavoured, enjoyed by all of us. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.

    My friends and I were very happy and satisfied with the experience, value and quality we went through at Chourangi. Only small issue we had was that it was a tad too heated, but that is a tiny detail on what was a textbook perfect experience. Thank you too to our server who was very friendly and efficient with us.

    Being partly Bengali myself I was intrigued when I came to know about Chourangi (an unorthodox spelling of Chowringhee) and invited some friends from Calcutta who frequently hanker for the food of the great city. We were surprised to learn that they only open at 1.30pm but the location is just a few minutes walk from Marble Arch tube station. We got a nice greeting and enjoyed taking in the large wall prints of scenes of Calcutta although the restaurant itself didn't look that new. The best dishes in my view were the slightly unusual ones such as the banana flower croquettes and the kasundi paneer tikka. Both had lovely flavours and are not dishes that I have seen on Indian restaurant menus. The kosha lamb and Nizam's malai tikka were pretty standard - I have certainly had better equivalents - both in India and elsewhere. The biryani was a Calcutta style biryani in that the flavours were delicate but the amount of chicken in it was a little stingy and the dish itself was far from piping hot. The sea bass paturi was delicious but the size of the portion was incredibly small - for the 26.50 price tag. We also took umbrage at having to pay for the sliced onions - I've never had to do that before. As for the bread basket - it was reasonably priced but again not piping hot and far from, for example, Gymkhana's gold standard, which is a work of art. Overall, the small portions (especially the fish) and having to pay for a very small plate of onions, left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth after some generally good food.
