Chop was created for people who love sharing, connecting and everything steak. We are proud to offer a menu that shares our commitment to sustainable beef sourcing, serving high-quality cuts of 100% Canadian beef. It isn’t just the meat that’s special – it’s also how we cook it. Our Montague broiler cooks at up to 1800 °F, giving a beautiful crust and flavour to every steak! We slow roast our prime rib in a humidity-controlled oven, keeping it mouth-watering and tender. And we put this level of care into each of our hand-crafted drinks, and from-scratch dishes, including plant-based and seafood options, with something for everyone to enjoy. All of this quality comes with friendly hospitality in warm and energetic rooms. Open for lunch, happy hour, dinner and late-night!

The service was good but the food was not. For a steakhouse the steaks were not medium rare as requested but medium. Sauce was forgotten on one order. Sauce was added later after brought to their attention but steak was cold by then. Miso glazed salmon was not glazed at all. Based on our experience all five of us would not return.

Arrived at 545, was informed I could get a couple great happy hour menu items! Cheap beer and great appies later, I dove into New York strip, best wedge salad in town and other mains. Our sporty all star server nicknamed Jelly had such an energetic vibe and Theresa , one of the managers just added the icing to the cake. Speaking of cake, the pineapple cakes was a perfect end to a superb experience. Highly recommended. Support Canadian business

I have come in 3x in the last 2.5 weeks, I feel like a VIP diner the way I am received. Had many appies.The tuna and shrimp were absolute highlights. Smoked rib, crab pasta and New York were some other highlights. If you like salad the wedge is classic and avocado Super Bowl is delicious. If you manage to get in at happy hour the value is spectacular. Bar side has a great vibe

Hostess staff didn’t seem to care that we were dining there which was unfortunate. It was our wedding anniversary and I put that in the OpenTable reservation but the restaurant staff didn’t get that information so we had to tell our server and then we were really treated special. Our server said she was new and on her 4th service by herself which was smart and helped us to help her. The food was delicious (wow the Steak bites, amazing). We ordered the 32oz Ribeye for 2 and it was one of the best Steaks we had ever had. Overall a really great experience ! We will be going back soon.

First Visit to Chop in Ottawa. A reservation for 7 pm. for two and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Almost immediately our server offered drinks and water. It was very busy Saturday evening and while it it is no fault of the staff it was very noisy in the dining room we were seated in. Drinks arrived promptly and were well made, (vodka Martini and Pina Colada.) Strange choice of glass wear for the Martini. I like mine on the rocks, normally served in a “rocks” glass, came in a Martini glass with ice. I should have specified. Ordered a Blue cheese wedge salad and asked if we could split it between us. Runner came with salad and one plate, mentioned we are splitting she said “oh just use your side plate”, which was tiny and meant for the bread we had already ordered. How much trouble would it have been to provide another salad plate. Salad was well made and very tasty, it was also huge. Mains New York Strip and crab cakes arrived with just a perfect pause in time between courses. My wife’s Crab cakes were well made and tasty, she enjoyed them. The steak was not the best. It was thin and had a large fat portion. I ordered Medium rare and received more than medium, worst was it had sat in the kitchen and was only warm in temperature on arrival. Our waitress did not check back in with us until a significant amount of time (10 Minutes) as to the quality of the meals which was unfortunate, I would have returned the steak. When I mentioned the steak quality to our waitress, she offered to replace it, I declined the offer. Worst was the loaded baked potato that came with the steak. It was undercooked and chunky with little taste. Best part of the plate was that few vegetable’s that were served. They were tasty and well seasoned and cooked. All in all service was pretty good, food at least mine was a “Meh”. Not sure if I would return.
