Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Staunton VA, The Chop House Tavern elegantly showcases a refined take on Chef Ryan Zale's culinary creativity. Professionally executed by Sous Chef Brendan Almy, guests can expect the signature proteins and menu staples found on our sibling restaurants menus, (Local Chop and Grill House, Harrisonburg VA, and The Chop House Bistro, Luray VA) as well as delicious takes on comfort tavern food classics. Additionally, we aim to provide a relaxing and unique experience through our modern-rustic aesthetic, comfortable lounge and carefully crafted cocktails for your enjoyment.

Loved the environment and service was very good , but my duck was literally ice cold. I’m not the type of person who likes to send food back so I ate it. Need to make sure that the dishes are consistent in temperature.

This is a beautiful, intimate restaurant with deliciously prepared cocktails and menu. We look forward to returning for another outstanding meal served by their gracious staff.

Amazing new steakhouse in Staunton that is also vegetarian friendly. Huge fresh salads for only $10 can be shared. My filet mignon was perfect: high quality with zero fat. Wines by the glass selection wider than most and fairly priced, as were the cocktails. I enjoyed their take on the old-fashioned. Didn’t have room for dessert but hopefully next visit. Excellent, friendly service despite being very busy. Nice ambience and super clean restrooms top off a perfect dining experience.

We enjoyed our first dinner with the Chop House which is brand new to our little town of Staunton. Our waitress was Jen and she was wonderful, kind and knowledgeable. No complaints at all, the sale was delicious, my steak ( filet ) was a little undercooked but still good. Overall a very nice dining experience.

If I could give 20 stars! From the moment we walked in. Ambience, wait staff. On point. Food, best I’ve had since moving to the area two years ago. Drinks, perfect. Warm bread and button. Salmon and mashed potatoes, top notch. Price for two, I was expecting to pay more. We cleaned our plates. No to go boxes. We will be back. Many times!

What a delightful evening! It was our first meal at the chop house. Service was wonderful. The food was delicious! Thank you for a terrific experience!

It feels like every detail of the experience has been thoroughly considered. The ambiance is incredible, it was not too noisy for such a small place, very comfy seating, extremely accommodating (but not overbearing) staff, and the food was out of this world! Our server, Lindsey, was wonderful and helped us choose from a plethora of great menu options. Our cocktails were also really great. Best of all, the bill was not nearly as bad as I expected for such a delightful experience. I can't say enough great things about this place, and we will be back!

Our server mentioned that this restaurant recently opened, but the food, service, and polish of the entire operation all gave the impression that this restaurant was well-established. The salads were fresh and tasty, the duck was cooked to perfection, and the ice cream was a perfect finish.
