Chin Chin® made its debut on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles in 1983, introducing dim sum and other Chinese favorites prepared using traditional Cantonese cooking techniques. I took a friend to Chin Chin for a birthday lunch. The service and food were excellent. I appreciate that my friend's dessert was comped since we celebrated his birthday.

Everything good, not bad, not great. Felt the food was on the oily side but the meat was tasty. The vegetable fried rice had basically zero vegetables I’ve had much better. Service on the slow side and it wasn’t that busy. Enjoyed the ambiance on the patio. Our server was fair-good, not very kind or helpful with the menu. Basically just there and did the job. Overall I’d rate the dining experience a “B” to “B-“. They have room to improve.

While the service from Angel was really good, at the end of the service he asked if we wanted free dessert and we thought it was a courtesy but after accepting, he said we first needed to provide a review on yelp and show it to him in order to access the dessert. I didn't mind at first, though it felt a bit cohersive. We had technical issues with yelp, could not submit the review, so he took the dessert with him. I couldn't care less for the dessert, but I didn't feel comfortable with the whole situation and I don't feel like I want to go back there again
