Led by esteemed mixologist Bob Peters, Chief’s is a tribute to his late father (known in the family as Chief) where guests can enjoy elevated cocktails & first-class service in a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere.

An architect by trade, Chief’s appreciation for thoughtful craftsmanship can be felt in every corner of our restored, historic mill house—from the homestyle furnishings to heartfully crafted libations. Cocktail Highlight: Clarified Malted Milk Punch is a testament to the skill and creativity of the Chiefs' bar team. Made with Southern Star Bourbon, apple-spiced tea, winter spices, orange & lemon, and malted milk, this drink is a silky-smooth, well-balanced fusion of warmth and brightness. The spiced tea complements the bourbon’s richness, while the citrus elements add just the right amount of acidity. The clarification process gives it a clean, velvety texture, making it an effortlessly drinkable yet complex cocktail. A great place for cocktails and bites. Vibe was perfect. Cocktails were superb. Per usual with this restaurant group. I highly recommend.

Chiefs is a cozy spot that looks like a living room with comfortable furniture and small tables. The drinks were unique takes on some classics and some different and interesting ones I had not seen before. Lots of local to NC brands are used and fresh ingredients. We were able to sit outside and it was quite an enjoyable experience!

great drinks but pricey since no crazy interesting drinks i cant make....fun vibe though.

While the cocktails we had were very good, the prices are a bit higher than other area cocktail venues. We did notice that in the room we sat in, located in the right rear of the building when looking from the street, my partner's booth style seat against the wall sat higher than the chair I sat in. While this did not cause a problem, not being eye to eye with your company is a little off-putting. Thank you for having a fine place of business, we would likely return again. We enjoyed ourselves.

Craft cocktails are amazing. I only wish I could have had more than 3 (my self-imposed limit).

What a cool vibe! Chiefs was outstanding. The drinks are creative and delicious. The staff were exceptional! The focaccia, the cookies, …. YUM!
