PERFECT SEASIDE FRENCH BISTRO. We tried Chez Rosa because another favorite in town is closed on Sundays. This restaurant is totally on point. The young server (Bobby) was very helpful and very aware of the wine list. Started with a bistro salad with a lemon vinagrette. Excellent, and the salad was not drowning in the dressing, which seems to be the case with so many places these days. The charcuterie board of the day was excellent. My wife had the steak-frites, the steak was cooked exactly as she requested, and the frites was perfection. I had the Parisian gnocchi, well executed, absolutely perfect for an autumn evening out. And again, the dish was not drowning in the sauce. No room for desert, maybe next time. And there will definitely be a next time. The meal was on par with anything we've experienced in New York City, and quite frankly better than many.

Chez Rosa was fantastic. Dishes tasted as good as they looked! The service was wonderful and we even got some visits from the chefs :) thank you so much!

Terrific food, friendly and attentive service. Chez Rosa consistently delivers an excellent dining experience. The best onion soup, consistently excellent salads, and perfectly balanced entrees.

The food was excellent but it would have been good for the waiter to inform that the appetizer was more appropriate for 2 people than the 4 in our party. While there is no problem in placing a full order at once, per the waiter’s request, the food came out too fast. We had cocktails, and appetizer, our entrees and dessert all within one hour. Far from the culinary experience we were looking for. It was clear the turning over tables is the priority and we were rushed. The wait staff needs some training. We would have had more and spent more money, if the waiter had made some recommendations for a table of four. He should have recommended a second appetizer, because the one we ordered was not enough. No suggested bottle of wine, either. Also, the crème brûlée was very runny and not custard-like as it should be. Very disappointing. Don’t think I’ll go back.

We aren't regulars, but eat at Chez Rosa when we can. My wife and I always love the ambiance- quaint, quiet, comfortable. The food is consistently fabulous- and while the menu is not extensive- each dish is superb, without exception. What you want in a French bistro- fresh, sumptuous, and so satisfying. This last time we were there, the woman at the table next to us chided me for not completely finishing the 'frites' with my steak frites- which for both of us were the best french fries we had ever tasted- almost overshadowing the perfectly prepared steak. However, what led me to write was my noticing the staff. The wait staff is knowledgable, attentive, and playful, but even the young runners were noticing subtle needs of those around us (e.g., the need for a share plate, bringing extra bread for the charcuterie). This is clearly a well trained, smart, and well coordinated staff. We will be back whenever we're in the area- and looking foward to it each time.

We travel to Kennebunkport, Maine, each year and discovered this local gem last year. We gave our friends, whose home we stay in while vacationing, a GC for Chez Rosa. They LOVED it too!! We already have a reservation for next week. It is perfect!
