Le dernier de son genre près de la rue 42nd Street, le restaurant Chez Josephine est un petit bijou de quartier fondé en 1986 par Jean-Claude Baker comme un hommage à la légendaire Joséphine Baker. Ce bistrot parisien propose des concerts de piano et un menu alléchant dans un cadre intime avec des murs de velours rouge, une profusion de lustres et un plafond bleu étain.     My friend(s) and I have been coming here for several years and have ALWAYS had a wonderful time. Food, music, atmosphere are great. A unique flashback kind of place we need more of. Chez Josephine is a tradition for us whenever we are coming to NYC.

    The food was quite excellent however, my main entrée was lobster ravioli and I was served a plate with three raviolis on it. The portion sizes are not worth the price; it is a convenient bistro given the proximity to several theaters but in terms of value, I would not recommend. If price is no object to you, the food was quite tasty- Enjoy.

    Had a fantastic meal after a Broadway Show. Steak au poivre was excellent. Moises frittes as well. And they make great Dirty Martinis. And the service was friendly and attentive.

    Very disappointing experience. I was robbed by a pickpocket who was sitting at the table behind me and received no support from the manager. Food was average but the piano player/singer was terrific.

    We had an excellent lunch experience. We both chose from the luncheon price fixe menu and found delicious options. The food and service were excellent. The ambiance included a pianist who sang too! It was a great treat on a hot Wednesday in NY.

    Such a disappointing experience. We were the only people seated in the restaurant until shortly before we left. Our server knew nothing about hr menu, we had to refill our own glasses, she kept disappearing, and did not take our order in a timely manner. We ended up getting bowls of soup, sides of fries, and a cheese plate, and barely made curtain for our show…which was indicated in our reservation notes. It is obvious why this once bustling gem is now completely empty…terrible management and service.

    First time here. It was a good experience. Service was very good The place looks great. The piano player added to the terrific ambience.
