Chez Dominique is a family run restaurant serving French and European food.
We are located on the beautiful Argyle Street just over Pulteney Bridge and our smaller dining room, which can also be booked for private dining, overlooks Pulteney Weir.
We have a carefully chosen wine list and an interesting selection of drinks.
Bookings of 5-6 will be seated either in our Main Restaurant or Private Dining Room. Bookings of 7-8 will be seated in the Private Dining Room.
We look forward to welcoming you to Chez Dominique where you can enjoy good food and drink in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

Had a wonderful meal, food delicious and service matched. My wife is gluten free and staff and kitchen were some of the best at accommodating this than anywhere we've experienced.

Excellent lunch menu. Delicious food prepared in simple, but tasty dishes. It's our favourite place for a pre-theatre lunch and is excellent value for money

A brilliant place to share our wedding anniversary. Welcomed with a glass of champagne - what a great start. The food was of uniform excellence from start to finish. The wood pigeon starter with hazelnuts and green leaves was excellently prepared. Onglet steak was cooked to perfection. But the highlight of the meal was the rum and raisin clafoutis. A bit of a wait (warning on the menu) and the result warranted the delay. After a really wet Thursday, a brilliant way to celebrate all those years together.

I had initially booked a table for two, but then later a friend of ours asked if she could join us as she was travelling through Bath. I called the restaurant with very little notice to ask to change our reservation to 3 people, the lady who took the call was very accommodating and without any issues changed our reservation. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and taken to our table. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary on this trip, the waitress surprised us with complimentary glasses of champagne! This was a very nice touch which we appreciated very much. Each meal was delicious including the bread & butter and the appetizer we ordered. The ambiance was right on point with a gorgeous view of the street outside and the elegance of a French bistro. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal & would most certainly come again when we return to visit Bath. Thank you Chez Dominique for the beautiful and memorable experience, we really appreciated it!

Accommodating and gracious servers, pleasant ambience. My wife had delicious potatoes, green beans and scallops. I had a steak. We shared excellent home made bread and olives with our drinks. The carafe red and white were excellent. However, the French 75s were very disappointingly inept since they had no bartender and the drink was mixed by the server. We didn’t complain because she was such a pleasant young woman but, at almost 13 pounds per cocktail, it was terribly balanced, overly sweet - almost the worst French 75s ever!

Great service. The scallop appetizer was wonderfully balanced and delicious. Lovely cocktails. The special picanha steak was tasty, but half of my steak was so full of gristle it was inedible. I was disappointed that although the server said the comments were relayed to the manager we didn’t receive an apology or any other form of acknowledgment. My friend had the same steak which seemed to be okay but a few hours later had stomach issues possibly since the inconsistent steak quality made digestion difficult.
