The Chequers Inn, which is owned and run by the Holmes family, is a traditional rural pub situated in the heart of the Isle of Wight within the beautiful countryside. Our pub is the perfect place to eat, sleep and drink on the Isle of Wight, and also perfect for just stopping by for a pint of traditional local ale.

Our kitchen's aim is to provide fantastic fresh tasty food created with as much local produce as possible, with an elegant and relaxed atmosphere.

We had a lovely family meal yesterday. Three generations enjoying a delicious meal together.

Nice food, dogs were quite noisy although I had booked adults only area, the dogs were louder than what kids would have been. The postcode for the place was not recognised by the satnav which made it difficult to get to the venue.

Hi Janet, we are sorry you did not have a great experience regarding the noise, if we can, we are always happy to relocate our customers so that they are more comfortable, our staff just need alerting on this. This is the first time we have received feedback regarding the postcode not being recognised but we will check this regardless.

Far too long between very quick starter (garlic bread) and main course. Had to enquire if had been forgotten!!

Lovely food and reasonable prices. Oh, and if you forget to pay before leaving the staff are very understanding 🤣. I was able to settle over the phone, sorry again for that - it must have been a senior moment!!

Ate here with 4 children. Everyone had tasty hot food. Great value for money. Definitely be back.

Food was amazing, portion sizes were small for adult meals. Especially prices you pay. Kids meals were great value. Service was amazing x

Lovely meal in family area of pub now we have a grand baby which I had not been to for about 25 years!! Lovely menu choice and great food and service plus our grandson loved the garden . Thankyou. We will be back
