While 95% of the food was delicious at Chef Jono V&V the evening was let down by 3 annoying things. Firstly despite having discussed with them on the phone some two months earlier that one of our party required a gluten free meal (and confirming this by phone the evening before) all they could produce for them as an alternative to the prelim of malt loaf and a spicy mini tart was a slice of plain white bread - that is NOT fine dining. Secondly the music being played was at a loud volume and meant it was very difficult to hold a conversation, and requests to turn the music volume down were ignored. Thirdly because of the music volume was so loud that we were unable to hear the serving staff give their description of each course, and gave up asking them to speak louder when they kept forgetting to speak very loud each time a new course arrived. Apart from that the food was of a very high quality and interesting. Oh, and they don't warn you there are two flights of steep stairs to reach the restaurant, definitely not friendly to anybody with even minor mobility issues.

What a treat! All the staff were so lovely, chef Jono was super friendly and even had a quick chat with me! Food was absolutely fantastic Great value too! We went for the taster Sunday lunch menu. Highly recommend

Lovely greeting They then take your cost and bring the menus The staff are so friendly polite and knowledgeable Then you get the most amazing dishes and your taste buds have gone to heaven

Great evening. Food and drink excellent. Service excellent. Personally I would have been happy with a couple less corses.

It was a wonderful Thursday evening experience. We had the signature menu with pairing wines. It was very filling. The staff were excellent, in explaining each course. It was very enjoyable. Thank you.

A very memorable evening and a great experience. The staff were so welcoming, the atmosphere was really relaxed and the food was unforgettable!

Great food and inspired menu (as always) but the drinks pairings let the food down. Great food requires great drinks and V&V gets both right for dinner so why not for Sunday lunch!

Never done a review in my life but felt compelled to do the star ratings. I’m not one for slagging off chefs being one myself, just left at with honest star ratings.

Very pleasant surroundings with a lovely ambience. Waiting staff very attentive and helpful. Food quality very good and was nice to see chef Jono in the kitchen. We will return

5 course tasting menu Food was unreal Not French Onion Soup was another level. Loved the masala fish and roast pork too. The waiting staff were super efficient and very friendly. Definitely recommend and will be going back.
