We have tried numerous taster menus and this has to be in the top four. The food was delicious as was the wine pairing. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and the servers were extremely pleasant.

We had the mid- week 5 course tasting menu whch was very good value. Particularly enjoyed the beef and the dessert. Portion size was just right.

The whole experience was just a treat from start to finish. Loved the welcome from James and subsequently his attentiveness as Front of House (Apparently he is relatively new, you certainly wouldn't think so given his professionalism and knowledge of all the dishes and associated drinks pairings!) - then we had a lovely trio of waitresses who were exuberant, fun and professional as well as attentive. Then you have the food - my word! Clever, inventive, unusual, and most importantly bursting with flavour and a joy to eat. Easily the best value tasting menu in Yorkshire (and therefore in England!) with decent sized and exotic drinks pairings. An absolutely delightful evening fit to celebrate 30 years of marriage to my wonderful wife, which was recognised with a very personal and lovely touch by Jono and the team that left us both teary-eyed - a huge thanks to everyone for a lovely experience.

Best food we have ever eaten fantastic combinations relaxed atmosphere. Was a special Anniversary meal and so glad we booked to have it here.

The experience from beginning to end was outstanding. After booking we were promptly asked to confirm some details, which at first you might think is a bit over the top, but then when you realise it's all to enhance the experience, especially after you arrive and the whole experience. It felt personalised. The staff were on-point, promptly bringing out the dishes and explaining them as we went through. Very attentive. The food itself was out of this world and as a vegetarian, it's not often you get that amount of attention paid to you. Every dish was a taste sensation. There was a lovely touch towards the end to provide us with a signed menu for our anniversary, adding to the uniqueness of the whole experience. It was lovely to have a quick chat with Chef Jono to thank him and his team. I wasn't aware of any of his 'celebrity' status until way after booking after my partner highlighted it, but he was a very humble guy and I just wish him and his team all the best for their continued success. I'm looking forward to going again

Superb! Must book - I will be back! Booked as a birthday celebration, Chef Jono and his team did not disappoint. When discussing our favourite course on the tasting menu, our party could not decide; all courses were unique and delicious. Whether it was the creativeness of ‘Not French Onion Soup’, the creaminess of the ramen broth or the signature mushroom tiramisu (amongst the many courses) the food was both flavoursome, very well presented and plentiful. All in, a superb venue and great staff; which allowed chef Jono to deliver this wonderful experience 👏

While 95% of the food was delicious at Chef Jono V&V the evening was let down by 3 annoying things. Firstly despite having discussed with them on the phone some two months earlier that one of our party required a gluten free meal (and confirming this by phone the evening before) all they could produce for them as an alternative to the prelim of malt loaf and a spicy mini tart was a slice of plain white bread - that is NOT fine dining. Secondly the music being played was at a loud volume and meant it was very difficult to hold a conversation, and requests to turn the music volume down were ignored. Thirdly because of the music volume was so loud that we were unable to hear the serving staff give their description of each course, and gave up asking them to speak louder when they kept forgetting to speak very loud each time a new course arrived. Apart from that the food was of a very high quality and interesting. Oh, and they don't warn you there are two flights of steep stairs to reach the restaurant, definitely not friendly to anybody with even minor mobility issues.

What a treat! All the staff were so lovely, chef Jono was super friendly and even had a quick chat with me! Food was absolutely fantastic Great value too! We went for the taster Sunday lunch menu. Highly recommend
