Le Chef Geoff's propose une cuisine américaine contemporaine dans un cadre sophistiqué mais convivial, avec un grand sens de l'hospitalité. Depuis 15 ans, le Chef Geoff’s est le restaurant de quartier par excellence à Washington DC. Il propose de tout : des pétoncles, du thon grillé et des steaks jusqu'à de délicieux hamburgers, en passant par des pizzas, des salades et des sandwiches, servis dans une atmosphère agréable et détendue. Le Chef Geoff’s est également l'un des meilleurs endroits de Washington pour manger en extérieur. Vous pourrez profiter des incroyables promotions lors des happy hours, notamment des burgers à moitié prix et des pizzas à 8,95 USD, mais aussi des vins à moitié prix tous les mercredis soirs. Le week-end, un brunch est proposé. Il comporte notamment des mets classiques, par exemple des œufs à la bénédictine et du pain perdu à la vanille. Bon appétit !

Great service and I loved my perfectly cooked (al dente) Chesapeake crab ravioli with chopped bacon and asparagus in an Old Bay cream sauce. My dessert of the lemon and blackberry tart was also delicious and I asked for plain whipped cream instead of the Grand Marnier whipped cream (I don’t drink alcohol). They gave me the plain whipped cream without making a big deal about it which I appreciated. Nice moderate noise level!

Enjoyed “Monday Mussel Night.” My wife got the bacon mussels and they were great! I got the Madras Chicken which was also good, although a tad under-spiced for my taste. Only criticism was that the mussels needed some crusty French bread to soak up the delicious sauce. We had to buy focaccia.

Have heard about this place for years, but this was our first time here. We will definitely come back! The food was great! We went specifically for 'Mussel Monday', but ended up getting other things that we liked as well as the great mussels! Atmosphere is cozy and quaint.

Seems like Chef Geoff’s is on the slide to oblivion. The service last night was literally nonexistent. The people who brought the main courses to the table didn’t bother to clear the mess from the appetizers. Even when I handed one of them a dirty plate, she didn’t reach for any of the other dirty plates. After the food was delivered no one ever came back to see if things were ok or if we needed anything. When we finally got our check, the guy who brought it didn’t come back for our payment. We ended up taking it all to the bar and asking to pay there. In addition, the Brussels sprouts were dripping oil. They needed a bed of paper towels to soak the oil out of. And the so called ceviche was a fruit salad with a tiny bit of seafood in it. Everything was overpriced, and on top of the too high fees they added 5% to everything for an Initiative 82 fee. Initiative 82 will be the death of half the restaurant business in this city. The entire restaurant feels tired. We’ve been coming here for many years. But we will not be coming again.

We tried a salad new to us, the Cadillac Caesar, and enjoyed a favorite, grilled fish tacos. The salad was a surprise hit, having little relationship to a Caesar except for romaine lettuce. It was delightfully spicy, with black beans and cornbread croutons, along with tomatoes and avocado (maybe Mexican Caesar?). With a wonderfully lit, large terrace and attentive hostess Skye, it was very pleasant dining.

I think it was an off night. But we had terrible service, a truly mundane Caesar salad, and a pretty tasteless vegetarian entree. We’ve had good meals here before — so this was a disappointing surprise.

The food was great. I brought a new friend and she had never eaten there. She thoroughly enjoyed her drink, the food and the ambience. She said she would definitely return again. I have been eating at Chef Geoff's ever since they opened and live in the neighborhood. I continue to introduce it to all my friends and acquaintances.
