Known for fusing fresh Hawaii ingredients with the exotic flavors of Asia, Chef Chai has created a culinary style that reflects the cultural diversity of Oahu and the Hawaiian Islands.

To further strengthen the partnership with Hawaii’s local farmers and fishermen, Chef Chai co-founded Hawaii Island Chefs (HIC), the second generation of Hawaii Regional Cuisine Chefs. At Chef Chai, our recent dinner was a delightful culinary adventure. We started with the signature combination appetizer platter, a generous spread that wowed us with fresh ahi tartar, gravlax salmon roulade, and decadent foie gras mousse. Each bite was a celebration of flavors! Pairing perfectly with our meal, the Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis was a refreshing choice. For the main course, we savored the miso Chilean sea bass, a masterpiece served with pickled vegetables and rich coconut milk ginger brown rice. The highlight was the pan-seared Hokkaido scallop in lobster reduction atop creamy truffle risotto—pure indulgence. Service was attentive and warm, making Chef Chai a must-visit. We left with full bellies and happy hearts!

Glad to have taken advantage of a special menu while my friend was in town to celebrate her birthday. It was an unforgettable dining experience!

We enjoyed Chef Chai's special childhood Thai menu (Part 2). It was simply fantastic, from start to finish. Every course was prepared and served with care and attention to detail. Just a delicious feast and a very pleasant experience!

I went to what was advertised as a Thai home cooked meal. They served a seafood soup that was mild and tasty, then a Thai beef salad which was more slices of beef than salad. Followed by a delicious toast with seafood pits on top. The final dishes were braised pork shanks that was very delicious and tender and chicken stir fried with cashew nuts which was good but not great. Finally. dessert was Vanilla ice cream with fruit and a taro pudding. Overall a good experience for new dishes I had not tried before. The best for me was the seafood toast and braised pork shanks.

The Special Childhood Dinner was fabulous. All the sides were so delicious. I have never been disappointed going to Chai’s. As a foodie, the taste of all the dishes are perfect and we never leave hungry. I have taken many friends and family there and they were all very happy and many planned to go back.

Thai Special dinner was unfortunately fabulous. Everything was so delicious. I definitely will recommend my other friends!

The Tiger Prawn appetizer was amazing. Loved the King Crab Cakes, Servings sizes were very generous. We hade the Fresh Sea Bass and Scallop Risotto. Wait Staff was very professional and attentive. It is nice to see each of the staff wore a welcoming smile both on arrival and after our dinner.
