Cheeves Bros. Steak House in Temple, Texas is an upscale restaurant that has a menu full of USDA Prime steaks and a wine cellar so well-stocked it's won awards in the past. There is even an in-house florist at Cheeves Bros. Steak House, which makes it the perfect location for a romantic evening with your special someone. Just be sure you bring your appetite. Cheeves Bros. Steak House doesn't do small portions. One look at the prime NY sirloin strip should make that clear. The butter rum scallops and bacon wrapped scallops are both delicious options, too. If you like surf and turf, you can't beat the crab cake tenderloin.

Always a great experience at Cheeves. We celebrated our 20th anniversary and had beautiful fresh roses on the table, had a bottle of wine, great steaks. We will continue to have our anniversary at Cheeves.

Food was amazing as was the service. The staff was warm and welcoming. It is a great place for any special occasion.

First time to this establishment. There was four of us. Steaks were amazing. Drinks were solid, not poured light. Service was really good. Will definitely be going back again.

We celebrated my son's 21st birthday. It was his 1st fine dining experience. We loved the food. Steaks were tender and our orders were perfect. Our waitress did an outstanding job! She made sure our needs were met. We'll be back!

Cheeves has gone down hill in terms of service quality. My wife and I went out here to celebrate something she has achieved and to have a rare date night without the kids. Our server forgot to bring things out after being reminded multiple times. When he poored our bottle of red wine for tasting he spilled it all over the table cloth in front of my wife. In addition to that, when he brought out plates he set them on the table in awkward places. Besides our server, there were issues with other staff as well. When our main course was brought out one staff member drug the trash from behind the bar right next to our table and the stench overwhelmed the aroma from our food, we had to pause enjoying our meal until the foul odor went away. We witnessed another server drop a steak knife and then proceed to pick it up and set another table with it. A server also bumped into my wife and another staff almost rant the bus cart into our table. In terms of the atmosphere, there was a large group party upstairs that were obnoxiously loud. Enough to where we could hear each word. There were several groups in the bar that were not in dress code. The food quality was the only saving grace for our dining experience. We had the dinner for two, the two filets, and a bottle of wine. The steaks were delicious, the soup and salad were ok, and the mashed potatoes and broccolini were fair. The creme brulee was good. I asked for coffee or espresso and the server said they did not offer either. We will not be patronizing Cheeves again, you'd be better off at another nice restaurant.

We have visited Cheeve's several times in the past. The food is always good, but this time it was exceptional. This was not a great visit, however. The portions seemed smaller than our last visit and the prices were higher, especially for specialty items (Lobster Tails- $150.00 for two tails). There were some issues with the reservation, so the requested table for a "special occasion" was not honored in the way that we had hoped. We also did not experience the attentive service that we have become used to over the years. One visit should not eliminate this restaurant from consideration (we have had several good experiences), but I think if a restaurant aspires to be high-end, then its performance should be high-end as well.
