Went here for dinner last night. Very ordinary food. Expected more with the Michelin guide, the service in general was ok but the person who seated us to the table started off by saying we have the table only for 2 hours! And we reached 10 mins early. Also there was an argument/discussion among the staff about where we should be seated and that we should be seated downstairs even though we had a reservation for the mezzanine area. The discussion was in Hindi and I could understand because I’m Indian! Not the best service for a restaurant that’s priced the way it is. Also something seems a bit off about the food since we have had upset tummies the whole day today.

I was very disappointed with my trip to Chatora for lunch earlier today. We reserved seats at the restaurant in advance specifically for a Saturday early afternoon in order to take advantage of their bottomless lunch, which is advertised on their website for £30 per person for a set menu and unlimited Kingfisher or prosecco for 1.5 hours, specifically available only from 12:00-14:45 on Saturdays and Sundays. When arrived, we were unable to find the host, and when we were seated, the bottomless lunch was not on the menus provided. Upon asking, we had to go through two waiters before we were able to receive an answer, which was that because there was a rugby game on, the lunch menu was not being honored. There was nowhere on their website or online menu that said that the lunch menu would not be offered on certain occasions, or we would have come a different day. To me, I would consider this false advertising. Moreover, a waiter knocked over the drinks menu on our table into our (untouched) starter, but we were not offered a new one to actually be able to eat it until we asked another waiter after a 5+ min wait. Something about the meal also did not agree with us, as we have spent most of the afternoon after returning home on the toilet with very upset stomachs. All in all, our visit was an absolute disaster. We expected much, much better service from such a well-recognized restaurant, and instead we left very disappointed in our experience and with unsettled stomachs.

Excellent food! I never had so good Indian food in the UK. Crispy alloo chaat was amazing - chhole (chickpeas) were a bit spicy which I liked so much :) House specialty Dal was astoundingly tasty! Highly recommend this place for dining in.

The food was absolutely delicious and looked amazing too. Service was quick and attentive and the restaurant looks good. Would totally recommend, my son and I really enjoyed it.

Fantastic Indian food in Richmond. The staff were extremely accommodating when we were running late for our reservation. They arranged kids seats ahead of time, and the free kids food was a nice bonus. The food the rest of us had was excellent. I'm very picky when it comes to Indian food and this was the best I've had in the area. Dhai bara was a phenomenal starter. The chicken biryani was sublime. The pistachio chicken korma was almost as good as Khan's chicken jalfrezi - which is a real compliment. The chicken was so tender. All the dishes we had apart from the plain naan and rice were quite spicy (the kids couldn't handle their free 'mild' butter chicken). Great for our group but I imagine others may want to take note. Highly recommended if you're looking for a fantastic Indian restaurant in Richmond/Kew.
