Welcome to Château Carbide, our botanical-driven, absinthe-inspired cocktail bar, featuring seasonal light bites from Pendry Chefs. Perched on the rooftop of Pendry Chicago, this indoor-outdoor al fresco destination evokes the airy, effortless allure of the French countryside with a sun-drenched garden setting overlooking the city.

A rooftop winter haven where Chicago’s inimitable seasonal style is on display. Luxurious, private lodges dot the rooftop scene, each adorned with cozy fireplaces, luxe blankets, and plush, intimate seating for up to 6 guests. Snack on a winter-inspired small bites and sip seasonal cocktails while taking in the stunning city-wide views of Chicago and all its snowy splendor. Winter Lodge Fee: Sunday - Thursday $75.00. Friday - Saturday $125.00. $25 non-refundable pre-payment required. Fee is for exclusive usage of Winter Lodge during reservation. Overall great vibes! I came here for a couple of drinks and a snack, so I cannot comment much on the food, but the drinks were delicious! I highly recommend getting a reservation as well as going for early time slots to avoid crowds!

We waited 30 minutes for a popcorn appetizer. The waitress said it was prepared fresh, explaining the delay. The popcorn was chewy and stale.

Came here for my mom’s birthday. The ambience on the patio is amazing and the decor is also very pretty. However I was unfortunately let down because: 1. I booked a table in advance and our table was not ready when we arrived 2. We did not get service, not even water, for about 20 minutes 3. The food selection is quite limited. A small selection of snacks that are not very filling. A limited selection is fine, however I suggest adding small dish options that are a bit more filling. I would still recommend this location if you want an easy going night and a few drinks. Also note that seating on the outdoor balcony is not guaranteed.

Service was slow and the hostess was ever unprofessional and rude. The waitress was very respectful. We will unfortunately not going to return due to the poor service and unprofessional hostess

My date & I were excited to enjoy the rooftop. The host was lovely. The waitperson was cranky, and had to be reminded twice to bring a glass of Sancerre. Lackluster service.

Overall, vibes are cute and drinks are mid. But the biggest reason I’m giving 1 star is because I made a reservation over a month ago for Chateau Carbide specifically for a cocktail “experience” that was advertised during the timeframe I wanted to make a reservation. The whole reason why I made the reservation on this specific day/time was because this “experience” was advertised. Although, day of when I got there, I was informed there was no “experience” and that it had already happened? Biggest piece of advice — please update your restaurant events/experiences to reflect correctly on Open Table. This was a major disappointment for me, and unfortunately spoiled my anniversary. Service didn’t seem to care in the slightest that they had this mess up on their end.
