Welcome to Château Carbide, our botanical-driven, absinthe-inspired cocktail bar, featuring seasonal light bites from Pendry Chefs. Perched on the rooftop of Pendry Chicago, this indoor-outdoor al fresco destination evokes the airy, effortless allure of the French countryside with a sun-drenched garden setting overlooking the city.

Chateau Carbide at the Pendry Chicago offers epic service and incredible drinks with amazing views. However, the food doesn't match the value, and the elevator experience is a nightmare. Worth a visit for the atmosphere and cocktails!

We were a little underwhelmed. This is on top of the Pendry so we had decent expectations. The elevator takes entirely too long to get there. Once upstairs the hostesses were all super nice even though patrons are oblivious to anything else going on. The entry way is a tight squeeze. Once seated, the rooftop is a small area. Nice area for pictures and a sunset. The menu is pretty centered around Absinthe. The food menu is very limited and small bites, don't go expecting to really eat. Drinks were good, service was ok.

The space is beautiful and the drinks are really good. Food choices are a bit limited, but what is available is very well done. The only issue we ran into is they had a couple of tables available outside, but still wouldn't seat us there and told is that we either had to take a table inside or wait an indefinite amount of time for an outdoor table. We've never experienced that before coming here in the past, so wonder if it's some new management that put in a policy in place that makes people wait for no reason.

All 4 of us were extremely disappointed with the food. Blahsay at best. Boring boring. The drinks were good after we waited 15 minutes for our server. We’ll go back for a drink on a rooftop but that’s it.

Excellent views, service, and cocktails. Great place to go for drinks, but food portions are tiny and expensive (delicious though!).

Not the best view. Service seemed overwhelmed but they were very nice. Food was mediocre.

The service is the sole reason I will never return. The floor staff needs a complete overhaul on customer service training. I asked if we could be seated on the patio after speaking to the hostesss, who said she would try her best to accommodate. I informed my server and asked if she could keep a look out for a table outside, to which she laughed and replied “well, good luck”. At time of payment, my card was not handed to me. I got another customer’s card handed to me, and my card was given to a stranger. But there was no extra effort to fix the issue by the server, it was just a big ol oops sorry. Other than that the views and outdoor space is nice. Unfortunately I will never return.

AMAZING drinks, and the absinthe options were absolutely stellar. The venue itself is so pretty and the service was lovely. 10/10, would go back.
