    This was our 17th year celebrating our engagement anniversary with having dinner at The Chart House after driving to our spot at the point. We have never been disappointed in all these years and The Chart House has always delivered. Thank you for always making our celebration evening that much more enjoyable and thank you for responding with our favorite table.

    Wonderful dining experience in the singular surroundings of Chart House Monterey, which is an architectural landmark in itself. Great food and warm, attentive service, including a pleasant visit with Jimmy, the General Manager. Big kudos to waitress Erin who did a fantastic job on a very busy night.

    We wanted to try out the new brunch service. Sadly the food was really disappointing. Eggs Benedict were bland and they forgot to give the pesto sauce that was supposed to come with it. Chicken and waffles dish, the chicken was cold. Fish tacos barely had any fish in them, just filled with lots of cabbage. For the price expected much more!

    Service was lackluster. Light above the table was burned out, so two members of our party could not see the menu, let alone the food. The vegetable hash on the plate was so undercooked it was unpalatable, and the noise coming from an adjacent table was ridiculously loud. The restaurant was nearly empty, so no reason we were seated at table with no light, too close to a loud party for comfortable conversation. As the person who booked the reservation, I was embarrassed by the poor quality of food, service, and attention to diners enjoyment. At the prices charged, I expected much better (and got it the following night at another restaurant in Monterey. Chart House, you need to up your game!

    The service was excellent and the food and cocktails very good. The music choice and the quality of the sound system were terrible. Based on that, not sure I would go back.

    The hostess group was absolutely rude. We are a party of two with reservations at 6:30pm and checked in a little early. While waiting, another party of two arrived with the same reservation time and were seated right away. A group of 4 arrived with reservations at 7:00pm and waited about 5 minutes before being seated. We waited another 10 minutes and were then seated next to the party of 2 with the same reservation time as us. In talking to the other couple they were celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary exactly as we were. Both of us had completed our reservations noting that we were there for a special occasion. Why weren't we seated first?? Offsetting our hostess' rudeness was a great waitress even though the evening was ruined for the special occasion.

    This was to be a special anniversary dinner for my husband and me with our daughter and her wife here from Denver to join us. Unfortunately it was so bad the Chart House will never see us again. The cocktails were the best part of the meal and I'm not a drinker! One round, waited a long time for them. Our waitress/server was very sweet but seemed terribly inexperienced; we kept having to remind her to bring things we had ordered/asked for : i.e., bread and butter! And after asking twice for a small Marinara Sauce the server came back, apologetic, said she "had to really look for it" and set it down COLD - as if she scooped it from refrigerator. The appetizers were mediocre at best. Calamari somewhat ok as far as breading but the sauce/vegetables with it were very marginal, peppers slimy. The shrimp cocktail average - nice size, good sauce. We ordered 2 Spinach salads and 2 Caesar Salads, but were told they were out of spinach so we changed to 1 Chopped Salad and two Caesar Salads for the table but were served all Caesar Salads. No Chopped Salad and no explanation. By this time we were frustrated, just kept the salads which were only ok, declined entrees and dessert and got the check. Very expensive for a disappointing experience. There are far too many great places on the Monterey Peninsula to waste time/money at this Chart House.

    This is a high end, chain type restaurant. It was very busy and noisy, with a large tourist trade. The food and service were good. The waitstaff was very active and helpful. If in Monterey, make sure to check out our other great local restaurants!
