Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.

A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

Knowledgeable, friendly and efficient service. Excellent plate presentation. The preset tip buttons guilt you into thinking 20% is the bear minimum accepted

My wife and I went to Charles Etoile to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The menu had a number of different options, which made picking our appetizers and main course hard. The choices we made were excellent. The service again was excellent. This is one of our favorite restaurants.

Consistently one of the best dining experiences in the Lowcountry. Stellar service, an excellent menu, a kitchen that aims to please and THE BEST au gratin potatoes on earth, all in a casually sophisticated southern setting.

Delicious fish dishes … I had the blackened trigger fish and my husband had the salmon. Both were seasoned just right. The service was also excellent! We will be back.

The menu is always full of great fish specials and the service was great. The home-made desert was great also.

Only downfall compared to our numerous visits was the seating…in the corner with the bench wall blocking view Otherwise superb as always

I had escargot and monkfish. As perfect a meal as you can get. Others at my table had trigger fish, red fish and tuna. All great.
