Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.

A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

We ate in the bar area where Jeffery and Thad could not have done a better job. Add to that great food and what more can we ask!

This was my second time visiting Charlie's. I brought my family and it exceeded everyone's expectations. The staff and our waiter, Jody, were excellent. Everything about our experience was awesome. By far our best night out while on Hilton Head. I totally understand how this place has managed to stay a favorite for so many. Their passion and skill shines in this amazing restaurant. I just wish we had something similar in Charlotte!

The session selection is always second to none. Best on the island. We ate outside - very pleasant and less noisy.

I think this was the fourth time I’ve eaten there. The food unfortunately this most recent time was not as good in the past. The ambience is very nice.

Omg 😋 This was one of the best meals of our entire lives! We both had the fresh seared sea scallops which were DIVINE! Hubby had the special with Andouille sausage tomato ragu over them and he said the subtle heat was perfect, and I had them plain with the delicious salmoriglio sauce (butter, lemon, white wine reduction with fresh oregano) on the side for dipping. They came with the best scalloped potatoes EVER that were perfectly cooked with creamy cheese including a touch of gruyere and a side of fresh carrots and green beans. Home made bread starts you off with a delightful salad included. Wine selection by the glass and half bottles was extensive adding to the plentiful amount of full bottles available. We celebrated our anniversary and they surprised us 🤗 (See pic). Thankfully, we saved room for the Lemon Tiramisu. Limoncello soaked Lady fingers with the lightest cream and perfect balance between the bright lemons and the sweet cream. Be still my heart ❤️! Our server, Thad, was warm, funny and "just right" with checking in on us. The entire meal was perfection. Our new all time favorite restaurant! Merci beaucoup, Charlie! Je t'aime. 💕
