Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.

A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

Charlies is a superb restaurant. The food is varied and tasty, the staff is wonderful and the ambience is right on target for a French Bistro. Although the restaurant was packed the noise level was no issue, in part because they have left plenty of space between tables.

Consistently excellent food and fabulous wine list. Don’t miss Monday dinner half-price wine or the daily happy hour. Best restaurant in Hilton Head!

We ate in the bar area where Jeffery and Thad could not have done a better job. Add to that great food and what more can we ask!

This was my second time visiting Charlie's. I brought my family and it exceeded everyone's expectations. The staff and our waiter, Jody, were excellent. Everything about our experience was awesome. By far our best night out while on Hilton Head. I totally understand how this place has managed to stay a favorite for so many. Their passion and skill shines in this amazing restaurant. I just wish we had something similar in Charlotte!
